tbh a lot of things in riverdale are really really interesting, but executed just horribly. like even just with jughead being deaf but reading minds, it's not consistent and is pretty much only acknowledged when it's necessary to the plot. like especially when cheryl/abigail tried poisoning them, jughead couldn't tell what was going on before he was vocally told even if he could've easily read cheryl's, betty's or archie's mind

In those tropes they usually can't see their own aura but they can add a character to be sus about it only to reveal they were by the crash site and also got aura powers but they didn't want anything to do with the mcs so they've just been playing it cool. The later twist can be that he's not seeing people's auras but their like health or something so the darker it is the closer they are to their death day and that's why Betty's was so dark but until that's revealed Betty can angst about the things she's done. Then it could be a Final Destination plotline where they try to avoid her dying and angst about their mortality.

When Riverdale was originally announced I was really excited because I was a big fan of the comics when I was younger, but the show is a mess. If they wanted to do a paranormal/supernatural type of show they should have based it on the cartoon Archie's Weird Mysteries. That could have been really fun to watch and it would have made much more sense that jumping from one crazy plot/theme to another. I really liked what they did with the recent 2019 Nancy Drew series. They embrace the supernatural and it still seems way more realistic that Riverdale 😆 and way more entertaining 😜

The thing with Supernatural was it was supposed to end in season 5, then got popular with the fans to last for 10 more seasons. When you're getting your first job & they offer you 7 seasons (for syndication) you usually just go along with it because more often than not you don't get there & if you do, you get residuals for repeats for life. The CW seems to get away with far more rubbish for far longer than any other TV company (or whoever they are) I've ever seen. We don't have it in Australia, just some of it's shows. I do know Riverdale was on here but it disappeared ages ago. Same for quite a number of other shows on there. We get them for a season or 2 then pop, off they go.

I've always found it interesting that the casting director couldn't find a naturally red-haired actor to play Archie, but had no problem with Cheryl's character. Archie's black eyebrows have annoyed me for the longest. Anyway, speaking of Cheryl, someone please get Madelaine Petsch out of her contract. I feel like she's wasting her talent on Riverdale since the show has gone to trash.

There is a show, I think also on the CW, called Nancy Drew. Basically, a murder mystery show that's heavy on the supernatural. I've been saying for a long time that Nancy Drew is what Riverdale wanted to be, but they just got bogged down in these weird wish fulfillment fantasy trips that the Riverdale writers clearly can't quit.

It seems this CW channel/business/whatever just seems to get away with putting on any old crap & has money thrown at it whatever it idoes. It's had from what I can gather some of the most rubbish shows going (I watch reviews of other shows from others) & I can't believe such lack of success is constantly rewarded. It's almost like it's been used as a write off for whoever owns it. I read it's up for sale so maybe the owner's had enough too & when it is sold they'll have a massive clear out & start again. But so far, there's no one with any business sense running the place.

I've followed Alex for a little while, but I always avoided his Riverdale videos, because it wasn't a one-off thing, but rather a series, and it would be best to watch from the start, knowing what's going on, and I just didn't feel like it.
