The Ioniq you spoke of in this video is no longer made and I'm looking to buy new instead of used, especially with the current prices of used cars in the US. I love the amount of tech and luxury you are getting in a $30k car (Elantra Hybrid Limited in 2023 comes to about $30k after destination fee and such).

Drove this for 4 days. Excellent tech, very good mileage (36 mixed City/Hwy in LA traffic), very good driving dynamics, quiet car, very good pickup even up and down Anaheim Hills with 2 passengers. I have a 2022 Hyundai Elantra Limited I love it to death. I plasti-dipped the grill black and sprayed gunmetal grey on the chrome lower bumper accents. Also plasti dipped black the chrome door accents and added a back spoiler to the rear trunk. The CVT is a way better than my '17 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo. The HUGE misstep by Hyundai is definitely the N Line misses adaptive cruise. I sincerely hope they add that option in the next 2023-2024 model. I'd definitely make the trade.

Really wish you would do a review of the Elantra Hybrid - it's actually a very different car from the Limited. Instant torque from the electric motor makes it very peppy off the line, and 0 - 60 times are faster than other hybrids. The dual clutch auto tranny gives really crisp, precise shifts, and the true independent rear suspension makes it a handling dream. And I'm getting over 50 mpg around town in my new 2023 Elantra Hybrid. Add in the electronics package with the latest software updates, and this car is one of the most incredible values on the market. You really should give one a try. It's stunning.

I drive a 2018 Elantra and love it, problems aside. I'm not crazy about the exterior design of the 2021 Elantra. They went crazy with angles and creases. It's overkill and not tasteful to my eye. It's just trying too hard, similar to when the 2015 Civic came out. The interior, however, is exceptionally well done for the class. It looks very classy and upscale. The 2021 has the same 2.0L engine as my 2018. I love this engine. It runs and sounds smooth for a 4cyl. It's very low maintenance with MPFI instead of GDI and a maintenance-free timing chain instead of a timing belt. I only hope they fixed the annoying issue with faulty ignition coils that Hyundai keeps ignoring instead of recalling. It's an exceptionally efficient engine while cruising. Mine routinely averages around 45mpg cruising in the 70-80mph range. A Hyundai technician told me the 6-spd auto in the older Elantras like mine are far more reliable than the new CVT Hyundai switched to, which is already showing problems since 2020 model year. In fairness, it is a brand new transmission, so hopefully they can get any issues resolved sooner rather than later.

Faster than a Corolla? Even though the Corolla has a physical first gear and more horsepower (169) and more torque (151)? I wonder if he's talking about the older 1.8 liter Toyota engine versus the newer 2.0 liter. Also, the Corolla has another advantage: an independent rear suspension. The Elantra doesn't. And Hyundai is still not nearly as reliable as Toyota. Corolla is definitely the one for me. Thanks.
@BeyondLumination4 жыл бұрын
Do you really need a rear independent suspension? If the car still rides well, I think it becomes negligible. Kinda like double wishbone vs macpherson struts
@stevenjames11384 жыл бұрын
@@BeyondLumination It depends on the roads you drive on. Are your roads nice and smooth? If so, then no. Not so much. But you'll definitely notice the difference going over bumps, potholes, or broken pavement. Besides, I like cars that handle well, even if they're not super fast. I think that old saying is true. It is more fun (unless you go to a track) to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow. So, yeah, I like having an independent rear suspension. I was bummed that Mazda stopped putting them into the new Mazda 3's. The Corolla is no sports car, but (except for the base engine) it's fast enough, looks good, is uber reliable, and handles much better than the previous generation (thanks in large part to the independent rear suspension). Depreciation isn't what it was on these cars. Plus, when you consider they cost a little less, and you have wiggle room on the purchase price, it comes out about even. But most people keep these kind of cars 6 7 8 years, at that point, doesn't matter. They all All Will be around 6, 7 thousand dollars. A little more if in excellent condition.

@@kareem2457 It wont be cheaper with the shortage in micro-chips. It's about to go up in demand just from that alone. Look up the shortage in the micro-chips it's real thing happening right now and a lot of cars wont have the latest technology in them once the current stock sells out at most of these car lots.

VERY impressed by this, but I actually prefer the Corolla's optional instrument cluster with a physical tach and 7in TFT to this cluster. @Alex - when comparing this to Corolla in acceleration, this is definitely swifter than the 1.8L, but 7.9 seconds to 60 is pretty comparable to the 2.0L, correct?

Hyundai doesn’t even offer wireless Carplay or Android in the top of the line Genesis GV80. Odd

Saw it, just AWFUL! I was shocked to see such a bland boring GENERIC car come from Honda.
