Take the ZDX over the Model Y or the Genesis GV70? Absolutely yes! The air suspension option alone puts the ZDX a full notch above both. Not knowing how the air suspension dampers the ride (or doesn't) and how far it can (or can't) travel up and down doesn't take away anything from those who want an air suspension period. Both the GV70 and Model Y don't offer an air suspension at all even at this price point which is, for a buyer, completely a deal breaker in my opinion. Physical controls, manual air vents, HUD plus instrument cluster, Android Auto, and a normal driving experience overall are all huge pluses in my book. Looking forwarding to the drive section review and especially more details on the ride and air suspension for the ZDX.

Some of the competition that don't qualify for the tax credit are giving you $7500 cash off anyway just to remain competitive. Also, it's assembled at GM's Spring Hill Tennessee plant along withe the Cadillac Lyric. The Chevrolet Blazer and the Honda Prologue are assembled at GM's Ramos Arizpe Mexico plant. I'm sure Honda/Acura had lots of inputs into interior materials and the required front end exterior design to give the brands their respective 'look', but 95% of all the hard design points are shared between the four vehicles. IMO, all four vehicles look good.

What’s with so many people wanting to make this flop a *gm* issue? Uhhh too many folks aren’t paying attention here to what’s going on. Honda, much like Toyota, went the cheap route by piggybacking off of *gm’s* investments into electrification and phoned in the design of their first fully electric vehicles. *gm* saved their butts with models like the Prologue because Honda didn’t have to do much of anything to it in order for it to be a great car. The luxury segment is a bit different and this vehicle truly exposes Acura’s weak effortless attempt to make this a luxury SUV. *gm* handed them the tools they needed for a winner and they fumbled the ball. Needs a Landau roof to complete the look and it will fit in perfectly at the front of a funeral procession… I’m afraid the ZDX nameplate will die a second death 😔

WHat does that have to do with this vehicle? People who want to own an EV in the next 3 years cant really do much with that information. And when their stuff does come out its only going to put them in the game, its not like they will be leapfrogging GM/Hyundai/Ford
@JD-yx7be5 ай бұрын
@@shethjones4494 no one is leapfrogging anyone. Tesla used to be a generation ahead of everyone with the model S and X. Shortly after the Y came out others have closed the gap considerably and it will likely be surpassed within the next 6-12months. Honda's new plant will obviously set a minimum goal to be better than shared gm platform cars they are using. Will it be an order of magnitude better, no way it will be a few percent better here and there
@ScubaSteveCanada5 ай бұрын
@@JD-yx7be You can bet most of those batteries will be used for hybrids. As for EVs, by that time EVs may have already caused companies to go out of business. There has to be a business case to support their EV production as both Ford and GM found out, regardless of the Federal mandates (which they already back-pedaled on).

If the silver trim was not at the bottom, and the front grille was black and angeled upward the vehicle would look much better.

I’ve never seen someone so obsessed with an EV having a front trunk. Great video otherwise, I’d love to see a comparison with its platform-mates Prologue & LYRIQ
@shethjones44945 ай бұрын
ive seen reviews where they say automakers claim people rarely use them- I mean the concept it neat but honestly if I have enough interior cargo room its not really required or all that helpful. Ford has pics of the frunk as a cooler- nice idea but I would never use it

If they're sharing this much with GM, my concern is that Acura is selling GM quality and not Acura quality. IF this is just a stop/gap solution for Honda/Acura until they can come to market with their own EV, I would also be concerned about how much support Honda will provide to ZDX/Prologue customers.

So it has a massive hood but Acura couldn't fit a frunk because Acura wanted to to release the car sooner? Really?

Beautiful exterior design, wide stance and finally the right size wheels & tires...However the dash looks very last generational and general motors like, which is not a compliment.

i think its ironic that while some people are saying its pointless to buy this when you can get a Tesla (with a plain interior) others are criticizing this for being too plain- its still got more interior style than a tesla

Seems to be another example of legacy engineers who were directed to adapt EV components to an ICE platform. The space under that enormous hood is misused. I don't really need a front trunk, but the lack of one indicates lazy design.

Hate the detached screens. Needs one long one like the Lyriq. When they are split like this, reminds me of a “rushed job,” and that no one in production, or assembly were actually thinking.
