Alex's reviews are way better than any of the other online reviewers. I prefer the combination rear lamps to all LEDs. It might be weird but LED signal lamps are sharper in their on/off states, making them visible shorter time than incandescent lamps. Traditional lamps emit some light switching between on to off state which makes them visible longer and I think that is safer. That is something I notice during driving.
@riseabove3082

I really agree with everything you just said here. At night, those LED tailights are too bright and flashing on/off is too quick/short for LED while incandescent has a slower digression of light output when it goes to an off state. Basically what you said.

Let's face it, that cheaped out with the lumber support. It would be nice if they not only supported backs, but the people who loyally buy their cars and have supported them for decades. I've heard that the horn is so quiet that it's basically useless, which is a safety hazard. Bad Honda, bad! Raise the price, give less. That's the world we live in these days. One thing I found watching car reviews and reading comments is that people will complain about anything. I just bought a 2024 model Touring and love it. Don't care about rear vents. Cabin is small enough. Don't care about lumbar in seats and do have back problems. Not a deal breaker. This car screams luxury compact for the price. It is very zippy and handles extremely well. Knocked it out the park with the Bose system as I like my music all the way up and loud. I didn't buy mine for a race performance car. I bought it as a sleek professional looking cruiser that will get up when needed. Fits my needs 100%.

I know but with Hyundai you get a much worse trade-in value or higher lease payments due to the bad residual value on those cars. This is what keeps people going back to Honda and Toyota. He talks trash about turbos because of bad experiences back in the 1980s and 1990s, the last time he was actually able to remember. Consumer Reports says that engine failures (until quite old) are incredibly rare, and that's true across maufacturers and engine types. The entire car industry is going upmarket because that’s where the money is unfortunately. People working $7.25 minimum wage in America will never be able to afford a new car while the billionaires are just getting richer. Inflation is constantly pushing down blue collar working class families while most raises don’t keep up with inflation. It’s unfortunate. That’s how Hyundai-Kia completely changed their brand image too: cut the base models put more tech/quality = more profit and customers at a higher premium level That’s also why Mazda went upmarket and Honda is too

The new Civic looks nice, but it lacks a few things. For a premium sedan, it omitted several things. Full LED rear lights, no HVAC vents in the rear, no ventilated seats, short on rear footwell space, and the big one for me no driver lumbar support. Just that's last one will prevent me from buying. My back must have adjustable lumbar. With this top trim, it sounds more like a BMW. Buy the top model but add extras for even more money. I think that's a pity, Honda missed the target a bit.

Alex, I have noticed you seem to use the infotainment screen as something of an Easter egg in your videos. It always ties in with something you've remarked on in your review. I wish Honda would work a little harder on their seats and offer more adjustments. Aside from that, it looks like a pretty decent effort. I am looking at this and the Insight for my wife's next car. Much prefer this over the Corolla, but the new Corolla Cross looks interesting. A subcontact crossover is my preference, but I am not enthused with Honda's HR-V. They need something more premium in that segment. The Mazda CX30 looks like a winner in that segment.
@markmiller3279
@markmiller3279 3 жыл бұрын
The HR-V suffers from a subpar drivetrain and questionable styling choices, but it certainly is spacious. The Toyota looks surprisingly good, and the Mazda feels premium with the same caveats that Alex described for the Mazda3. I'm a bit disturbed they couldn't have managed more rear-seat space in somwthing the size of the CX-30. I also really like the Hyundai Tucson, which offers such a lot in its compact package, and its cousin, the Kia Seltos, which hasn't been a big success, so might be had at a good price. In the end, the choice would probably be between one of the Korean options and the Corolla Cross, which should be very reliable, but also the most expensive. I've had an Elantra for nine trouble-free years, so trust the Korean companies unless I have good reason not to. Anecdotes don't count.
@aaronbehindbars
@aaronbehindbars 3 жыл бұрын
@@markmiller3279 I wish Honda mirrored the trim levels and engine options of the Civic in the HR-V. I can look past some styling faux pas if the overall package is compelling enough. If Honda offered the HR-V with the 1.5 turbo and a Touring trim I'd more seriously consider that as a contendor for my wife's next vehicle. My neighbor just picked up a 2022 Seltos and I gave it a little look over. Other than some hard plastics in some touch point areas where I would like to see soft touch materials, it's a very nice looking rig in and out.
