Just purchased the 2025 Platinum. For my tastes it’s the perfect vehicle. I attend a lot of cycling events across multiple states and, in the Sienna, I can carry 2 bikes standing up plus baggage and supplies. That’s a win! (For context, I own size 56 road bikes) Extremely comfortable driving position! I thought the HUD was a gimmick but in real world use, I’m loving it! Then there’s the MPG’s; 35-40 gives me over 600 miles on a tank of gas. Big win! The price is lofty, but Travis brought up an excellent point that many SUV’s are at and above that cost with, in my opinion, far less utility. IMHO, Toyota should make more Siennas than any other model in their lineup…

I've been wanting a hybrid Sienna since before they made one. Finally was able to get a 2024 XLE FWD in red in summer in June. My wife and I have 3 kiddos and it's a HUGE upgrade from our 2010 Mazda 5. The interior is very well thought out. I love all the storage up front for knick knacks, phones, wallets, etc. And the ride is sublime, so smooth, soaks up the bumps really well. It's got plenty of power for merging and passing--did a road trip with 3 adults, 3 kids, and all our stuff from NC to PA (plus a day trip to North Jersey) and it performed really well--we kept an average of 36.7mpg for the entirety of that trip. As for the infotainment, the older version works great and I'm glad there is an option to dim the screen for night-time driving or just turn the screen off entirely if you're driving at night in bad weather. That said, I do think Toyota would benefit from having a dedicated button for toggling the screen on and off like Chrysler does.
@willwarnock2911Ай бұрын
We bought one of these late 2020 so was one of the first of this generation to roll off the assembly line before demand went nuts and dealers weren’t marking anything up. Zero issues, AWD and gets the same fuel economy as the compact car we replaced. This is the most practical vehicle you can buy out there hands down if you want economy and awd as well which none of the competition offers. Never had a need to remove the rear seats but can see how that would be annoying for some that need max cargo space. Who cares if the drivetrain is buzzy under acceleration, minor gripe. I’ve never noticed acceleration being negatively affected at high altitudes and steep grades and I live in the mountains. Toyota needs to find a way to make this a PHEV then this would be the cherry on top. Minivans >> SUVs any day!

I should add that you need to take Honda's "retail sales" thing with a grain of salt. Just because Honda has no fleet discount program does not mean that fleets don't buy Hondas. Hertz for instance rents Hondas and they currently have more used ex-rental Hondas for sale than they have Buicks, Mitsubishis, or Volkswagens. Fleets simply have to buy via a dealer like most companies and they can get volume discounts, just not "rebates" from the OEM like Ford and Gm do.

Alex and Travis, Before diving too deeply into the Sienna, may we take a moment to appreciate Toyota's greatest achievement* of the 21st century? Naturally, I am referring to the first generation Matrix we glimpse around 14:36. 🥳🥳 Getting back to the minivan market, Toyota recently announced a 20% increase in Sienna production for 2025. That should go some way towards meeting demand for the most rational choice in the segment. Finally, the term 'cargo van' was brought up once or twice in the discussion. Toyota manufactures a full range of cargo/delivery vans for other markets. In this age of endless door to door delivery on every suburban street on the continent, it remains a great mystery why Toyota allows Ford, Fiat, GM etc to have the market to themselves.🤔 * North American achievement.

Not to complain about the good ol' days of minivans, but the trend away from foldable or even removable second-row seats is unfortunate. Chrysler set the standard with the Grand Caravan back in 1987, introducing the ability to hold a 4x8' sheet of plywood with the hatch closed. Chrysler still has a monopoly on creating a truly flat cargo floor with Stow 'n Go seats, since Odyssey now has sizable seat tracks even after you take out the second row. I guess everyone gets their plywood delivered these days?

You are a fool if you buy anything but a Toyota van. I promise you that you will experience major issues in the other manufacturer vans when you hit 100-200000 miles. My 22 Sienna has 160000 miles on it and runs like new! Every Toyota I have has tons of miles on them and they all run amazing! I just don’t understand how people continue to make the same purchase mistakes because something “looks cooler.” Unless you are a professional mechanic and can work on your vehicle, buy a Toyota!

For rich only. Funny how they spend 60k to save 2$ on gas.

Sienna and Murai are the ugliest vehicles on the market!!!

I would add lots of other models from Toyota and Honda into the list of aggressively ugly vehicles. Those 2 companies simply don't care about pleasing the eyes as BMW kidney grill in front does: eye offending design is a norm these days.

Passenger captain seat does NOT go up and down! Ridiculous... Deal breaker...
