Thanks for doing this review. Almost no mainstream automotive journalist has reviewed this car. Several years ago the Corsair was on my shopping list. But the PHEV was years late in arriving and didn't offer much over a top trim Escape. Now, it appears it does. However, I just went and looked at inventory on the Lincoln website. Within 100 miles of my Orange County zip code, there are just 35 Corsair PHEV available. That's not much and probably doesn't give you much leverage in buying. I have no idea what Lincoln dealers are doing when it comes to pricing. So, with limited availability and no publicity and no reviews, it's not much of a mystery why these are in the automotive backwater. Still, thanks for pointing it out to us! Update: I bought one! There may not be a lot of inventory, but especially in the range topping Grand Touring III version, they are not selling. I bought one for Invoice. That's right, about $4,000 under MSRP. And got 0% financing through Lincoln for 4 years. Correction to the video: at 5:59 Alex says this has a mechanical AWD system. No. There is no driveshaft. In the rear there is a large aluminum housing connected to the rear wheels, so, without being an engineer, I'd say that's an electric AWD system, not mechanical. The exhaust pipe from the engine runs down the center of the vehicle where you would expect to see a drive shaft. So far, I'm getting far more than the estimated 33mpg. More like 45mpg. Stay tuned.

Two significant aspects of an ownership experience were omitted from this comparison between Lincoln and Lexus: vehicle reliability and the dealership experience. As a previous Lincoln customer and a current Lexus customer, I feel qualified to speak about these. My Lexus vehicles have always been bulletproof with no dealer visits outside of scheduled maintenance. My Lincoln spent much more time at the dealer with issues in addition to maintenance. And treatment at the Lincoln dealer was inferior to that at the Lexus dealer, both in terms of respect for the customer and services provided. At Lexus, service loaners and perpetual any day courtesy car washes are just two appreciated elements of being a Lexus customer. I would never consider shopping anywhere else but at Lexus as a result of my actual experiences with both brands.

The 2.0t and 2.3t in the pre-refresh had nearly identical acceleration and passing power. Even fuel economy was almost identical, with the 2.0T being slightly better in the real world. In other words the 2.3T served no purpose since the extra ~40hp/torque made no difference
@ZealofSparta Жыл бұрын
I don't know all of the details but Ford apparently redesigned the 2.0T in the last few years that improved the engine's overall performance while addressing a flaw in the coolant channels on the top of the engine block. Ford did not re-rate the new 2.0T for peak power and torque but my guess is it has better low and mid range torque that made the old MKC's 2.3T more redundant since, I think, the Corsair was the only model using that version of it. So cutting an engine variant to simplify manufacturing and producing a better product by fixing the leaky coolant channel must have saved Ford a solid chunk of money.

A Ford product comparable to a Toyota equivalent, that's a very big leap. Although, I have to admit; It's a stylish vehicle, though. 😊

Can anyone speak to the actual real-world MPG of the vehicle, assuming you don't plug it in? Does it act as a normal hybrid (charging a bit as you go and regen braking) if you never plug it in, or does the electric portion only get used if you plug it in? How does this system actually work

Good luck finding one of these.

The day this video was released Ford recalled 169,000 vehicles. You just CAN'T compare Lexus quality and Ford's (Lincoln) quality. Lexus is in a different league.

It's a good vehicle but it's also hard to find in a parking lot because it's so bland. Looks drives sales in this segment too. Between the two you can make a for more charismatic nx than you can a corsair. Also you are 1asking for conquest sales in a segment where Lexus nx was the only very reliable vehicle for a whole generation[from 2014 to 2021]. They earned thier repeat customers.
