It's amazing to me how one person, Alex, can provide better reviews than Car & Driver, MotorTrend, the FastLane Car, and even MotorWeek! I enjoy the robust, relevant, and practical reviews Alex provides. Who cares about 0 to 60 and 1/4 lap times?

ras296 We're big fans of Alex and his reviews. He's one of the best in the business for extremely detailed buyer reviews. That's what makes youtube so great. There's room for diverse car review videos that appeal to different people. We're lucky to have so many great choices and Alex is one of the hardest working guys in the biz.

We were in the market for a nice smaller CUV.. This is the most complete and informative review we saw. This sent us to the Lincoln dealer for the first time in our lives and we ended up buying a used MKC (2.3L AWD Reserve). The information contained in this video was superior to anything else we found -- including at the dealership. We like the ride and quality feel in the cabin of the MKC. Well done Alex, and Lincoln!

This is one of, if not, the best review I've ever watched. Alex always explains much more than one would expect, and all his information is well explained. I really appreciated his explanation of damping. I've always wondered how that works. There's no music, hype, or bias to any car he reviews. Just clear, well spoken, and thorough information. Thanks Alex!!

I agree. I really appreciate Alex's reviews. It's worth spending the 25-30 minutes to watch one of his reviews because I know everything about the car before even going to the dealerships. I have to take care to keep my thoughts to myself when out shopping for a car because I invariably know more than the sales rep. The Volvo XC60 and V60 are on my shopping list for a small SUV/Wagon type vehicle along with the Acura RDX, Subaru Outback and Golf Sportwagen. The XC60 just looks like a really classy vehicle with good lines inside and out. The seats are the best out there, which is important. I notice that I start to get fatigued on long drives with pain in the hip joint if the seats are poor in a car. Love that stitched dash option. Would have to go with the T6 if I go Volvo and hopefully go for European Delivery.

I like what Lincoln did with the MKC. From my brief time in one it seems they managed to avoid falling short in any area. Lincoln also seems to be on the right track with using the softer luxury approach. It is a somewhat ignored area of the market and they seem to have found some fans, especially considering they are struggling to produce enough to meet demand.

Hey Alex, Your VIDEOS are always SECOND to NONE! That said, What is it with FORD products and predominately BLACK interiors especially the DASH boards, door panels and ceilings. Yes you can lighter on the cheaper models like the FUSION for example or the FOCUS and the ESCAPE it is a sea of BACK interiors on the dealers lots when you look at the high end models and I am so over black. lol.

Fabulous...thanks Alex. You answered a question no one else has been able to in your review. I have been planning to get an MKC and have been test driving it a few times (the 2.0 model). I hear a low kind of roaring sound from the bottom of the windshield which to me was more of an engine noise. I couldn't understand it since this car is equipped with active noise cancelation and people in the dealership couldn't also find an answer. And you said it in your review that active noise cancelation can't cancel engine noise very much....it's a quiet car except for this noise when accelerating. Is it the same in the 2.3 model? thank you so much again. Great review..keep up the good job
@AAutoBuyersGuide9 жыл бұрын
Payman most Yes the 2.3 is basically the same.

Excellent review! So glad you made it to the MKC, I was waiting for awhile and very curious to see your usual thorough critique. I was hoping you would find a way to cover the approach detection and subsequent night light show. It seems to be one of the unique features in the segment, though it can be a little gimmicky perhaps. I've been very happy with my MKC, and cross shopped it fairly extensively. I do have several small critiques that I hope Lincoln addresses in the future. I wish the gas tank held a few more gallons, I would like to see all lighting LED including turn indicators and license plate illumination, and I think there should be more than the one light location in the trunk. Very minor gripes overall. If it were your money what do you think, in this segment, you would consider (I cross shopped a lot)?
@AAutoBuyersGuide9 жыл бұрын
Ryan Kather I think I would probably spend a bit more and get the XC60 T6 R-Design, but if you aren't after the power, then the 2.0L AWD Black Label MKC is one of the best values and most unique.

Same as the other commenters, I think Alex gives the best auto reviews! Quick question Alex, did you get to try out the Radar/Active Cruise Control, Lane Departure warning, Lane Assist Control, Pre-collision warning? If yes, how would you rate these capabilities (out of 5)? Also, how are they compared to X3, GLK, RX 350? Thank you in advance!
@AAutoBuyersGuide9 жыл бұрын
Abby Huang Yes I did. The systems perform better than those in the Lexus NX or RX, similar to the X3 and a step behind the GLK and XC60.

Thanks for reviewing my car man. Lincoln make an awesome vehicle. Their only problem is getting people to the dealer to test drive it. My question to you is. Do you know if the awd system sends power left and Right? I trying looking at the intelligent drive system as I drive but could never look long enough to tell. But in all great review
@AAutoBuyersGuide9 жыл бұрын
carey smith No, aside from traction control the AWD system does not torque vector in the MKC. [Edit: it appears that it does have a brake-based torque vectoring system on the front axle only]
@RyanKather9 жыл бұрын
Alex on Autos Lincoln claims it does have torque vectoring, but it seems like only the front wheels participate. From the MKC brochure; "Torque Vectoring Control automatically adjusts the speed between your front wheels for enhanced cornering and agility". Is that only under hard cornering and not during wheel slip though? I'm not sure quite how it works, brake based no doubt.
@AAutoBuyersGuide9 жыл бұрын
Ryan Kather Thanks for that! It is brake based according to Lincoln and oddly on the front axle only even on AWD models.

Never heard that someone will think that this is a subcompact SUV like the Q3. Is more likely to be compared with the Murano and it's wrong because the Murano is midsize and the mkc is compact SUV
@jimmacmurdo3559 жыл бұрын
I agree, one of the best reviews of the MKC I've seen to date. The comparisons among the major players appears to me to be spot-on; great job. I personal biggest concern with this vehicle is it's fuel economy. When (not if) gasoline returns to the mid-to-upper $3 range, the difference between this and the Acura RDX for example will become considerably more meaningful. Also, I have yet to drive any of Ford's Eco-Boost engines that get anywhere close to their EPA ratings, something I can't say about the Japanese competitors -- which will likely make the fuel cost differential to those models even greater.
@AAutoBuyersGuide9 жыл бұрын
Jim MacMurdo The economy was disappointing. Hopefully Ford will move to an 8+ speed auto soon. The RDX and XC60 FWD models have the best economy in this segment.
@1guyin109 жыл бұрын
Alex on Autos Maybe it will eventually get the joint venture 9 speed (or the 11 speed that Ford recently patented) ? I'm surprised they have been this slow bringing them to market, but then considering the teething pains with the ZF 9 speed perhaps the long development cycle is in order.
@paulpellico37979 жыл бұрын
Alex, you mention the XC60 often in the review. However, isn't the Volvo a much larger cr? Seems so when I see it. I am a fan of the Volvo and consider the T6 turbo one of the best now available, but it does seem to be more competitive with the MKX than this.
@AAutoBuyersGuide9 жыл бұрын
paul pellico The Volvo is only 3 inches longer which isnt much and most of that is the rear bumper.

Excellent review as always. Something that manufactures are doing these days that just turns me away is the totally digital instrument clusters. Such as the digital needle for rpm and speedo in this Lincoln. I've just always preferred analogue physical gauges, and they can be made to look very good and modern. Guess I'm just old fashioned!
@takhayc9 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you. Guess we are a dying breed. I drive an 09 Corolla LE. Back then the most prudent choices in its class and based on reliability and value etc., IMO were either a Corolla or a Civic, and I chose the Corolla just because it came with an analog speedometer instead of a digital one (hyperbole but basically it). I know the Civic handles better and all that young people stuff, but I hate it when the car is at a complete stop and the gauge is still doing a count down. I am not young but I am not that old BTW. LOL
@Lucky8s9 жыл бұрын
ccmaster86 Digital instruments are almost obligatory when it comes to luxury vehicles. Look at any high tier Mercedes, BMW, Audi or even Hyundai/Kia. Apparently, it screams luxury.
