Maybe Acura should get their shit together and stop focusing on being an "inexpensive luxury" brand. A luxury brand isn't about being inexpensive. It's about being able to treat yourself with features you want but not need. And the Acura offers NONE of those.

Mike Mitchell I also did after testing all of its competitors... Evoque, RDX, X3, Q5 and so on. The front reminds me a bit of a VW but the rear is simply unique and the best looking. After all most of its competitors will only see that as it has the most power in the price range. To get all the MKC features, competitors are $5-$10K more and some don't even mach it. I am sold. I am getting the MKC and my experience with Ford vehicles have been an excellent one in the past 3 years.

tecnocato I find myself paying more and more attention to Ford's products, and that's a pretty big deal considering I've been a GM fan for the past 35 years. I really like the MKC, MKZ, and the new MKX, and since I've been burned recently by GM over my current car (Cadillac CTS), I think Lincoln will probably get my money when it's time to replace it.

I got to drive the MKC vs. the RDX at a Lincoln Ride and Drive event for my work. I spun the RDX (and the MDX) a complete 180, and no matter how hard I kicked the Lincoln's into the turns, they wouldn't lose it. Let's see how luxurious the Acura is when it's flipped over in the ditch! Only thing is this review I disagree on is the seats, going from the Bridge of Weir leather in the MKC to the fake leather in the MDX was torture.

Who fucking cares about the dash padding. How about the flimsy feeling doors and door handles on the entire Acura line of cars? They sound/feel downright cheap. Escape and this Lincoln feel like European Cars by comparison. How about writing that in your review guys....

Interesting you say the MKC is faster, the numbers from several prominent publications mark the RDX at a third of second quicker 0-60 mph. That's after you upgrade to the more powerful 2.3L vs the 2.0L on the MKC. No doubt the turbo in the MKC makes the acceleration feel more sporty once it is in stride, but the RDX isn't a slouch by any means in this segment.

What's the point of offering a 4 cylinder turbo if it's going to get worse mpg and more repairs than a v6 competitor. Plus I absolutely guarantee the resale value of the MKC is going to tank hard. RDX wins in my opinion

Turbo 4s are a bit of smoke and mirrors. They do better in EPA testing which is unrealistic, but in the real world it's a different story because most people are boosting all the time, burning more fuel.

People always think that Japanese car brands will be more reliable, but the thing is, that isn't the case anymore. Korean brands lead the industry now. According to JD Power, Lincoln has way less problems compared to Acura. Lincoln's 103 PP100 compared to Acura's 126 PP100, and don't forget Acura is near the bottom of that list. Thankfully Autoguide knows what they're talking about. Lincoln wins hands down.

The MKC and the Ford Escape Titanium are better than the RDX; I test drove them all and bought a fully optioned Escape Titanium. The RDX may have better resale but you'll have far more enjoyment owning the Lincoln or the Ford.

I own a 2013 RDX and it's flawless, is about to 60K and runs like the first day I got it...truly a great reliable car! I recently took it to the dealer for maintenance and was pretty surprised that they offered on the trade in value, I was curious so they gave me a quote. Overall, I'd take the Acura, yea, it might not have all the technology, but I really don't need parking assist, I feel these things are added trouble as the car gets older. Good review!

I own the 15 MKC and really like it. I wish it had a 6 cylinder engine and anything other than the stereo system that is in it. Stereo is absolutely garbage and speakers are paper. I spent a fortune trying to get it to sound good. Fit and finish is great. It uses regular fuel which the Acura needs premium. We all know the variations in fuel prices when you get away from regular pricing. I have noticed a rattle that I suspect to be the plastic cover on the rear hatch. Should not be much of an issue to fix. This car has some really cool features like the "Lincoln" emblem that lights up on the ground at night when you unlock the doors, the panoramic roof and the ability to understand what you are saying when you make verbal requests (most of the time). I have thought about replacing it with the 17 RDX but do not think I will because the new ones have not been updated much from the one shown here.

You guys need to compare Lincoln MKC with Lexus NX. Both have high tech features and turbo charged engines. Acura is more of a pseudo luxury brand esp with the RDX. They have added some high tech safety features to the TLX but RDX is still in pre 2010 era in terms of tech. This is even more sad if you consider that Honda CRV comes with LKAS, ACC, BLIS.

The Lincoln wins hands down. The MKC is way more stylish and way more luxury feeling than the RDX. The RDX is almost the same as a Honda in and out which isn't good when your paying for "Luxury". Anyone would look better in a Lincoln over an Acura anyways. The RDX is way to bland and Honda-like for a luxury car.

That's a current Lincoln hallmark. You can expect that setup on all new Lincolns using their current design language. You wanna see another odd setup, go look at the V6 Acura TLX.

Lincoln is changing that as well for the next gen Aluminium Lincolns due 2018, until then all Lincolns will get the push button Transissions which I 2 am not fond of, but overall the new MKC is 8.5/10 scorer, BMW X3 gets 9/10 , Q3 too gets same 8.5/10

The MKC hands down. The Acura is just a waste of money and badge. I'm not saying its a bad vehicle, but they did everything in their power to remove the problem rather than fix it. Rather than improving the Turbo 4 they threw in the same V6 found in the Pilot. And rather than improve the SH-AWD system to be lighter and more efficient system like Audi did with their Quattro and BMW did with their xDrive they just threw in the AWD system from the CR-V. Include the fact that this offers no features for the sake of making it "inexpensive" and you have a complete waste of a luxury vehicle. They may as well axed the CrossTour and replaced it with this vehicle but with a Honda badge. I hope the introduction of the NSX lights a fire under Acuras ass and they make their vehicles more hight tech than their Honda counterparts.

That's a nice little Lincoln, styling wise and other...wise. But I think I'm going with a Jeep Cherokee. I just can't justify the price difference at about 8-10K for the least expensive 4wd Cherokee vs. the least expensive awd MKC. Five grand? OK. Ten, yeah, no. Plus the Cherokee will have less depreciation and if I ever want to really go offroad, it's no Wrangler, but it's still a Jeep.

Let's be honest, you are putting you hands all over the dash and expecting it to feel like leather. When is that actually important? You aren't sitting on the dash. I literally threatened to break my friend's feet ,if he put them on my dash, so for me that's not an issue. You sit too far away to lay your head or hands on the dash for more than a few seconds. Still a different texture in the plastic at least. But if that upsets you so much, please remember bottled water comes straight from the tap. Leather covered dashes are only good for one thing, decoration. They add weight and expense. Its one more thing to get fixed in time, when the leather fades and/or cracks.We won't go into Naugahyde, even though it is very hard to tell Naugahyde from natural leather most of the time. Although Leather does certain colors and textures far better than Naugahyde and vice versa. Now suede or some derivative, while that looks cool and often weighs less and costs less than leather, it's main benefit is that it is non-reflective. The lay down windshield to "Cheat the wind" have an ungodly habit of reflecting light from the dash to make the windshield go to white. It's also not that picky about how you clean it. All that said, I would like to see, Large car makers, who do not specialize mainly in Luxury cars, spend, reinvest, some money in putting and end to naked plastic surfaces in their Luxury vehicles. Not just hard but also soft touch, Fake wood and CF, ALL of them. Leave the naked plastic that to the mainstream cars, where "it looks good" is good enough.

I have the 15 MKC and getting rid of it. It is a maintenance hog and has the worst stereo in the world. I had a battery die, shocks started clicking, replaced front brakes at 30000 miles. Had a couple recalls but Lincoln has taken care of them. I fear the cost of ownership when the warranty is done, problems become the owners. It sits great and rides great with a ton of options, that are waiting to fail. It is a pooch with terrible acceleration. Fuel milage is just over 21 mpg which is sorry. I am done with it at 40000 miles. I'll pass on the Acura and the Lexus NX 200 T. Loved the Infinity best except for fuel milage and premium fuel but don't care about that. I wish I had passed on the Lincoln

So I couldn't wait until Ford brought back physical buttons for controls on the dash, but then they went on and did something just as disappointing: buttons for gear shifter. What the heck ? God forbid something goes wrong with the ECM and there is no physical measure you can take to disengage the transmission to stop your suicide. Scary.

hate to break it to you but the physical gear shifters have been computer controlled for nearly 2 decades. In fact buttons are much less likely to fail than a sliding electronic control.

justin bouche Opel's are crap, i've been in them (Rebadged as Buick and don't say it's different material etc. because i've seen the spec sheet) i'll admit all Lincolns are a bit shit, but this is the best car Lincoln makes. I like fords but they're not that nice, if you've been in the new Escape. And then go to the Lincoln the only thing you'll notice similar is the type of material on the top part of the door, parts of the dashboard, and MyLincolnTouch. But Opel is just a nice Chevy, which isn't saying much.

Divine Stupidity opel just a nice chevy......... wow you just showed how little you know. opel is the german division of GM also known as buick. opel uses better damping control and chassis construction than ford or chevy they are not a direct relation company they are a subsidiary of GM which is borrowed for buick (which is direct relation). at the end of the day lincoln is the same level as VW, OPEL (buick), and fiat. nothing more. sorry if that upsets you.

Yada yada, there's many division of GM that of are different countries, Holden, Opel, Vauxhall, and all that crap. But what if I told you they're not that good still. You can still have better damping control and chassis construction but it doesn't mean it's any good. At the end of the day Lincoln is where Cadillac was 10 years ago, but they have been better; and they will be. Unlike them Lincoln has been a major luxury contender before. Being the BEST selling Luxury Car brand in America before. (BTW Buicks cars are Opels now, but weren't before and is the oldest American Luxury brand just a something I thought I may throw in.) I know they'll need a flagship before you change your mind, but trust me they're working on being more and more different and better than Ford.

You forgot to mention - it's a Ford!!! I'll take the Acura/Honda any day. In fact I just made this decision and have the RDX. I traded a loaded F150 and the MyFordSync was horrible. It does have better res on the display, but what good is that when it takes seconds to do anything. Also they need to loose that flashing circle of the Nav and try turning off the heated seats while keeping your eyes on the road.

Both of these vehicles are really a let down. The rdx is clearly the worse of the two. Too bad lincoln could not step up their interior game some more, if it did and added a litle more room it would be a top contender, instead it offers a not quite there interior and lack of space. The rdx, time for a total remake, really does look like something out of the 90's.
