Repo rate hike 2022 is in news recently because of the rise of 40 basis points in the repo rate of India. RBI said that the repo rate hike is to control the inflation in India. Inflation in India has reached near 7%. To control the inflation, along with the repo rate, CRR hiked to 4.5%. To understand the implications of repo rate hike 2022 and CRR hike in the inflation of India, some banking terms like repo rate, reverse repo rate, bank rate, marginal standing facility, cash reserve ratio (CRR), statutory liquidity ratio (SLR) and Net Demand and Time Liabilities (NDTL) has to be understood.
