Never realized how much Cliff carried the melody during the verse riffs. Every album should be remixed this way...

@@ArhBird And that’s why I personally prefer this album out of all metallica albums, the songwriting credits were for Cliff’s own bass contributions instead of being mostly for the guitar melodies (RTL)

You must be a fairly new Metallican referring to your comment saying (go cliff) that bassist is not with us any longer so that being said (rip mr burton) we miss you like crazy and I wish you were still shredding the bass guitar on stage with kirk,james,& lars.
@tomwalling57963 жыл бұрын

This is actually a really great mix. You can hear the bass and more importantly its sound fits well with the guitar. It sounds like they are cooperating and not "fighting for space".

I honestly had no idea how good Cliff was until I heard this. They have him turned down so much in the mix. His finger picking top notch! Such a huge loss. Imagine what their future albums would have sounded like if he was still alive.
@alextamulis7 жыл бұрын
Yes, and it is amazing how tight his arrangement is with the drums, the guy not only cared about melodies and counterpoint; he also focused on how tight the rhythm section would be. Too bad Flemming Rasmussen wasn't too keen on foundational mixes, it was mostly guitar-driven.

That's your opinion. The bass is very quiet on Master of Puppets. Some of us PREFER the loud bass mixes actually, and think it's better. It's good that you think the original is better, but to me and quite a lot of other people, that's not true.
