At this point, the way to do it would be to completely re-record it, because the extra bass makes the distorted guitars and the drums sound weak. @@marshaltito7369 The story is is that Lars had the mixer turn Jason's bass down to what we hear on the album and James didn't fight for Jason. I've heard all of the stories, primarily that burying the bass in the mix was part of the hazing of "Newkid", and have also heard Jason himself respond (upon receiving a copy of '...And Jason For All' from a fan, and being told by said fan that "This is how it was meant to be") that the original mix was how it was "meant to be". Kudos to him and his modesty but, since hearing AJFA for the first time and noticing the lack of bass (and the few moments that it could be heard), I have to say that almost every mix I've heard with the bass amplified leaves me cursing the rest of Metallica and how they could justify burying the bass, intentionally or not.

If you notice all the good sounding albums produced, mixed, or engineered by Mutt Lange and Andy Sneap, they all have one thing in common: they never placed the bass ahead of the kick drum. Kick drum before the bass. As a result, all the instruments have their own pocket frequency, and you can hear everything going on, as evidenced by Queensryche's "Empire" album - you can't get much better than that album! The bass here though needs to be cut to about 1/3rd to 1/2 a decibel and it would be perfect, and only because Lars insisted on a very very very dry kick drum sound.

For anyone who’s wondering, Metallica did this album without bass because James and Lars were extremely egotistical to Jason Newsted (the bassist at the time). So they turned him down to where you can’t hear Jason’s bass I the original recording, so that’s why. Apparently it was James and Lars’ only way to articulate their grief to Jason. Anyway nice vid!
