@AF, I cannot thank you enough for your guidance. I am one of the guys who has bugged you about tire options and which is the best replacement for the Corsas. I have 12,300 miles on my 2017 QV on the OEM Corsas. While it has been a great performance tire, I am experiencing some MAJOR wheel hop on full u-turns at slow speeds. It almost feels like the front end is going to explode. Haha. I’ve been told it’s what’s called the Ackerman angle and it was designed this way. Regardless, I am ready to try something else, and I want to take your advice. Living in SoCal, we get sun a large majority of the time. Based on your feedback, I am going with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tires in the OEM size. I truly appreciate your dedication to the industry and helping guys like me arrive at an informed decision. PS LOVE your wheel cleaner and all other products. There is nothing better in the industry than Auto Fanatic products IMO.

BMW enthusiast here....I also hate winter tires that feel like big marshmallows. Have had good experience with Dunlop Wintersport M3s (full-on snow tires), Conti DWSs (all-season), currently running BFG G-Force Comp-2 (all-season). They do everything I want a hi-performance A/S tire to do. Life expectancy: probably 30K miles or so.

Really appreciate this info. I have a Giulia QF, spend winters in Florida so a summer tire should be all I need.

yep but so many complaints even from FL residents on the Corsa in the rain esepcially since your roads are main concrete and water pools up and makes them sketchy.etc so many are seeking alternatives, i also found it quite odd they used Corsa as standard tire and not an optional one but i guess ultimate performance was all that matters and im cool with that.

Very timely. I have a nail in the shoulder of my rear pCorsa. Already replaced the same tire at 800 miles due to sidewalk damage. Ugh! I have about 6000 miles now on the tires so right at that crossroad of sticking with these a bit longer. You can see some rubs and uneven wear on the fronts but probably have a few 1000s more miles. Instead of doubling down and sticking another Pirelli on the rear with uneven miles, or more importantly replacing both rears, gonna make the leap and replace all 4 with Pilot Super Sports. Been following all your videos and really appreciate the insight on the tires.

I changed out to the Pilot Super Sports earlier this week. Much much better overall for a wider variety of road and weather conditions. The pCorsas certainly have an advantage for optimal conditions and on the perfect dry road they are awesome. However as you shared the Pilot super sports do not give up much in performance and have the greater advantage of a wider temperature range and a variety of road conditions, which accounts for 99.5% of my daily driving. Spot on. Appreciate the recommendation.

Very informative video. I'm looking at replacing the OEM bridgestone on my Stinger GT and I've been looking at the pilot sport A/S 3. My car has 14k miles on it and the bridgestone are already starting to show a lot of wear.

OEM Bridgestones are terrible tires the only good ones they make are their Blizzak Snows, try the AS3+ lots of Kia Stinger fans that watch this channel switched to them and love them.

OK so this is interesting because I’m running the Michelin pilot sport AS 3 + my 2013 Subaru legacy 3.6 R and these tires have a build date of about I think 17 or so and I’m down about I’d say 6or 7/32 so I’m getting decent wear but what I noticed the other day is cracking very slight cracking in between the tread on the face of the tire where the tread meets the road but no sidewall issues and I rotate the tires about every 6 to 7 k. I live out here in Sacramento CA

Great video, love geeking out over stuff as simple, yet complex as tires. I’ve been thinking about running the pilot sport a/s 3+ on my daily (Civic Hatch Sport) year round. Do you have any experience on those tires in warmer temps like spring/summer?
@autofanaticcars
@autofanaticcars 4 жыл бұрын
yes you can use them all year road but best advice is to rotate every 3k miles and always maintain PSI all around we found from customers who did not do this they suffered even quicker wear. its a great all around tire but the 50k miles they claim i think is BS

Love the sight. You should get a commission on the Giulia Quad I just bought. I am considering 3M masking for the front, did you put any on? If you did was it the full front clip or just partial. I have a 993 Porsche and the 3M is a must have. Thanks.

2020 Alfa QV , I am looking to fill the wheel wells a hair more, not interested in adding anything that will take away from the cars natural performance - - my 1st thought is retaining the 19" , moving to a 295 Rear and 255 Front Michelin Pilot SS or S4. Some undefined concerns in negatively impacting the performance if i move to a 20" , add spacers, and lower the vehicle. . . . thanks in advance AF, much appreciated.

Auto Fanatic doesn't seem to be responding for the last year. Last week I discovered a screw in my right rear Corsa P-Zero tire on my 2019 AR Giulia QV and it won't even retain air. I'm hoping to be able to use the tire inflator/sealant kit successfully to get about 8 miles to the tire store, or else I will have to have a flatbed tow--the worst would be to get halfway there and then I have to have it towed. Since I have about 8500 miles on the car and about two thirds through the tread life I going to replace them all. No one seems to be able to get the Corsas, at least not a full set at once. Although I hear that the Michelin Pilot S4 are now available in the OEM sizes, the tire store says they can't get them and suggested the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, downplaying the differences with the newer version, so I let them order them and they got them in in less than two days. I was hoping to get over there Monday, tomorrow, but I've been researching and several reviews say that the Pilot 4S are quieter, but most importantly have much better wet road performance and than the the Pilot Super Sport, which is important in South Florida. Reviews have compared the Pilot 4S to the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport, available in the OEM sizes, and the tire store said they could get them, and they seemed to be roughly equivalent, as far as wet weather performance, maybe even better, than the Michelin Pilot 4S, although maybe a slightly harsher ride but maybe a little bit more precise steering feel, but both the Goodyear and the 4S are supposedly better in wet weather than the Pilot Super Sport, so I was thinking of asking if they could get the Goodyear and return the Michelins. The dealer closest to me said they use Goodyear. A more distant dealer where I actually bought the car messed up alignment after selling me on a probably unecessary expensive control on replacement, said they use Bridgestone, which doesn't sound like a good choice, and their technician kept insisting, when the parts people asked, that QV has run flats, which is incorrect, so that kind of, incompetence, aside from the distance, is the reason I don't use that dealership anymore. The main issue is why is no one weighing in about the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport on this channel--someone asked about them a year ago with no response.

I have the AS 3+ on my Mustang GT for the last year but have had two tires replaced due to cracking and developing sidewall bubbles, not sure if because of the terrible NY/NJ roads or because of a manufacture issue
@autofanaticcars
@autofanaticcars 4 жыл бұрын
very odd with the cracking on these as I mentioned i wonder if it was a mfg issue or just the design of the tires and yes our NY roads destroy everything but tires should not prematurely crack in short time. On your Gt maybe look into the P4S tires

I’ve got a Tesla Model 3 Performance which came with Pilot Sport 4s, and my tires have maybe 40% life left after about 6500 miles, because I launch the thing all the time. Any recommendations for a good tire that I can use from spring- fall (i use Michelin xi3 winter tires in winter), which is cheaper than the PS4s? I will be going through tires all the time because I push the car hard.
@autofanaticcars
@autofanaticcars 4 жыл бұрын
some cars just eat tires quick so its one of those things to deal with, the 4S will last a decent amount of time but depending on your alignment out back the rears may be toast just as fast

@autofanaticcars 4 жыл бұрын
great cars I know them well but hard to find good ones and are climbing in value if you do, also very expensive to own these days they are maint hogs. the Alfa feels lighter and so much more modern in every way there really isn't a comparison for a 20 year old BMW but that E39 M5 was their best M5 along with the E60 versions for sheer driving fun. I wish they would bring that back in their modern cars but that is all but lost for so many years now its a shame how numb the new M cars have become.,

So, I have struggled to find a good set of winter rims for my QV. I have the Michelin Alpins in the rear and the Perrelli Soto Zeros up front. I found that combination is outstanding, and I live in NW Wisconsin and drive this car all year. However, getting another set of rims from Alfa Romeo is way too expensive -- and I cannot find anyone who can tell me what the wheel specifications front and rear are to buy some. Even Tire Rack doesn't have the wheel recommendations, and Alfa isn't forthcoming with the technical information either. I understand that the rears are 19x10.5 and the fronts are 19x8.5 but I need the offsets, BHC and center diameter dimensions. Do you have that data so I can find winter wheels? Thanks -- love my QV and like I said,m drive it all year and share days with my Aston Martin in the Summer, and track both.
