Jag is a race car that can go on the road, Alfa is a road car that can go on track. Apples and oranges really, the jag is a limited edition bespoke car, the Alfa you can go and order at a dealership today, or at least some of us can. Should Alfa decide (which they won't) to do a GTA with the full 8 cylinder engine from the California T, 4wd and all the requisite track-focused mods, things might become very interesting indeed. Kudos to Jaguar for building this crazy car though and to you Harry for yet another wonderful video.

The Giulia Veloce you are talking about but if you see the prices of both in the UK, the Veloce is more expensive than a second hand Quadrifoglio. The Veloce does look amazing. It is almost a Quadrifoglio but without that 510hp engine.
@CadillacFan775 жыл бұрын
Very good comparison. Eventhough these two cars don't have much in common (except the 4 doors and a high power engine) it's great to compare them. I own a Giulia Quadrifoglio myself and the "negative" points are positive for me. I use the car every day and I'm extremely happy for the softer suspension and the calmness, even if that translates to "rubbery" feelding Harry refers to. Also, the less aggressive styling is a big plus for me, as the Giulia has a lot of class even in the Q trim. The Jag sure looks great, but it's too aggressive for public roads. If I had a choice, I would still go with the Giulia, but would put that amazing V8 from the Jag in it. The turbo engine is indeed the worst part of the Alfa in my opinion, both from the power, the turbo lag and exhaust note. But, unfortunately, there are not a lot of options nowerdays for a proper engine, at least not if you don't want to spend more than 100k euros...
@harrysgarage5 жыл бұрын
Excellent summary and I agree with much of what you say. P8 could never be an everyday car but the QF certainly could. My thoughts are the engine in any car is critical to its character and the P8's s/c V8 is a gem in a sea of turbocharged V6 and V8 alternatives. Both cars represent fantastic choices for the enthusiast, the alternative is a performance SUV which, are driving either of these two, hold little appeal. I went for the P8 because I have a multi-car garage with a RR in reserve for everyday chores, so hardly a typical customer(!) but have no regrets in buying it over a QF, for the reasons stated in the video.

Dynamic mode provided some 'get-up and go' paired with steering and suspension that added some exhilaration. But overall power and bottom line performance doesn't match up to my Jag. Leaving the dealership in the Jag 5 min after the Giulia test-drive, the difference felt between the two was significant. Perhaps Alpha may consider a 320+ HP 6-cyl upgrade.
