Great video, heard about the window feature but didnt know how to do it, till now. thank you. FYI dont know why you say wait 5 minutes, I turned truck off pulled key, waited for dash lights to go off, then tried it and it work. As far as I can tell no need to wait 5 minutes.

Thanks for the compliment Mike. I say wait 5 minutes because that is the consensus in the Ram forum. For some feature changes to work it can take up to 5 minutes to reset the PCM. Or even cycle the car on and off a few times. DRL change may require this... Thanks for watching brother!

I still really like it. I'm actually amazed on how far I can get a signal with it. When I drive outside of the city I can still get the station about an hour, hour and a half away before I have to change it. So global down worked well for you? Did you have the 2016or 2018 ram?

Hey Gary sorry for the late reply, And yes it will work with your RAM. alfaOBD works with 2013 all the way up to the new classics. The only thing difference is after 2018 you need a bypass harness. And I have about 9 or 10 videos about what you can do with alfaOBD. Nope. I didn't cut anything out of that video, I did exactly as you see. I know some people on the Rams forum have had not as good of luck with newer trucks, 2016 through 2019 Classic. Do you have to leave the alpha OBD connected all the time. Or once you do the programming you want you can remove it and everything still works. Like if you have to take it to the dealership, or in my case I Have A banks product plugged in all the time for my throttle response. Mine's a 2021 3/4 ton Limited

Auto-up is a bad idea from a safety standpoint. I doubt it would be allowed. That's why power window switches nowadays have to be pulled up to roll the window up. You don't want a 3 year old sticking their head out and stepping on the window up button.

I did as you said. Sometimes it kind of works. Windows go down a couple inches, most times none at all. Question. I have driver door unlock first push. Second push all doors. Yours sounds like all doors unlock first push. Could this be a problem/my problem? 2017 ram 6.7 if that matters.

Yes, it will sir. You will however have to purchase the bypass harness. This harness is required for the 2018 through 2020 classic models. I just bought the factory sub (for under the back seat), plugged it in and it doesn’t work. Do you know if the alpha has a setting for flashing or allowing the sub to work without the alpine set up? So, I enabled this on my truck awhile ago. But honestly it is hit or miss if my windows roll down at all, start and stop at random spots on the way down. I honestly gave up on this really working. Is there a sequence when unlocking the car for this to really work? Or do others have this same random results.

Hey Greg it seems if you have a 15 16 17 18 or 19 classic and has that sporadic problem. Actually the guys in the Rams forum typically say that the newer the truck is the worst the outcome. So I have a 2014 and it literally works flawlessly. So it is a known problem if you have a newer 4th gen. I know this might be a stupid question but did you try changing the batteries in your remote? That may help.

I enabled this feature. However it seems be very hit or miss working. I see you got the unlock button, release, hit it again and hold it for the windows to come down. Mine has worked, but wondering if there is a sequence to follow? I honestly bought AlphOBD just for the light drop out to be disabled as I drive a lot at night. So that is awesome in itself. But I wouldn't mind enabling a few other things. What has you turned on/unlocked? Mine is a fully loaded 2017 Laramie so many options are already enabled. TIA

Hey Greg, you are doing the sequence right. Hit the unlock button once and then hold down the unlock button for the windows to roll down. Release the unlock button when the windows have rolled down to your desired placement. now I can tell you some people in the RAM forum have enabled this feature and it can be spotty for 17 18 and 19 classics... You can always try a few little things like being closer to the truck and maybe change in the battery. Hey Dennis the OBD link does not need to be installed all the time. After the parameters are set and you have waited the 5 minutes everything should work like if you had bought it like that from the dealer. Good morning Kevin, yes you need the full version of the app $49 . I'm assuming when you said you purchased alfaOBD for $99, you mean you purchased the OBD2 link MX+ for $99. The MX+ is the device the alpha OBD app talks to they are completely different things. One needs the other to work. and if you have a 2018 through 2021 classic you will also need a bypass harness. This is cool but didn’t work on my 2019 ram 1500. I found I needed a bypass cable for it to connect and set the values. The values stored as YES but using the fob yields no movement in the windows. Any thoughts on this?

Hey Kyle Leser, per the Ramforum the newer 4th gen's have problems with some of the values working. Some have said their window rolls down but only a quarter or half the way and for some it doesn't work at all. It's actually kind of strange and as far as I know there's no resolution for it. So to install new Tow Mirrors you also need to install a new RF box. It goes in the driver side door. I just bought a 2019 Dodge Charger and was looking for something like this. I came from a 2015 Impala and I had the OBD that let me roll the windows down and would automatically roll them when I locked the doors. Is this god for chargers?

Hey Big Mo, so, Dodge charger from 2011-2020 is in the alfaOBD app. I literally just checked for you. However since I have no experience with a charger. I have no idea what works and doesn't work. Hey @Hemi life or no life, The app is not available on Apple products. So there's a couple ways you can go about this. 1) if you happen to have an old Android phone or tablet laying around connect it to Wi-Fi and download the app through the Google Play store. Last time I looked the price of the application was $50. 2) You can go on eBay and buy a used Android phone and/or tablet. It does not need to be connected to any cellular service you would just need to be able to enable Wi-Fi on the device and then connect to your house Wi-Fi to download the app. After that, every change is made over Bluetooth. Those are the two easiest ways to get started. Hope this helps out brother.

Hey Sergio, good question. If I remember right tilt in reverse mirrors were pretty much only offered on the Laramie package. Meaning you would need the mirrors off of a Laramie and install them on your sport and then enable the features in alfaOBD. So I was using Alfa obd and tried to change the boot screen to say hell cat now the truck has track control light and trailer brake light msg. Idk how to get it to back to factory. Oh and cruise control gin as well as my seat memory’s don’t work.

Did you make a backup of your original settings? kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5PJqYiirdqMr80 Hopefully you did. you need to look at your original backup and go through the settings one by one and change them back. Does the Global Down windows work on a 2017 Ram 1500 Sport? I tried it doesn’t work.

Hey Carter, sorry for the late reply...yeah, it works for 2013-2019 Clasic. Some people have better success than others. also for some the window doesn't roll down all the way for them sometimes a quarter or sometimes I have it just depends. Hey theheilious, that would be correct. Changing the setting on a 4th Gen will only make the windows go down. If you want the windows to go up you'll have to buy a Taser. Thanks for watching and your support.

I download the AlfaOBD app and have the OBD link plugged in and when I go through the steps it comes back and after I hit the start button and says No date received from ECU/interface or data corrupted. Try to start Procedure again. I have done this several times. Any ideas how to fix it?

Hey kioto, Glad to hear it works on the journey as well. So as you know I'm not familiar with the journey but I'm thinking that allows horn to be set to on or off, on your radio display in settings. Look through your settings in your radio and see if you have horn chirp with lock/unlock.

Has anybody had issues after they enabled this option where the global down doesn't work every time? It takes me about 3 tries to get them to roll down. Sometimes they go halfway down and stop, sometimes they go all the way. Not sure what's going on...

2013 and up guys. Although alfaOBD Will work on earlier 4th Gen Rams, not all options are available for them. If I remember right somebody in the Ram form compiled a list for 2009 to 2012. Here's the alfaOBD thread www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/page-1375 Hope this helps out guys
