2018 2500 CTDTradesman, AlphaOBD, LinkOBD MX & AEV bypass cable. Works like a champ. Couple things to note, 1) the light blinks fast (armed but not active) then after 30 to 45 secs it will blink slow (armed and set). 2) there are now MY2018/MY2019/MY2020 PowerNet Body Computer control units now in AlphaOBD. I have a 14 Express single cab and I've activated the windows down, and the drl for the parking lights. Just a note! For mine though the drl activation only worked for the turn signals. Wouldn't work for the high or low beams but looks better in the turn signals! Awesome videos sir and thank you! Keeper comin!

I have a 2014 RAM 1500 Express - yes the 4 tires only model. I had uploaded the system info to google drive as you advised in another video prior to starting this mod. So I had a good idea what was already enabled. I was not able to locate LIN and Misc_VTA System Present in the app; however it was displayed in the system info as being a NO. I found only LIN and Misc_VTA System State which I know is listed as "No Security" so I selected it and the options for Value included VTA. I then selected Start - after I saw the completed message I selected the back icon until I was able to exit the app. I exited the truck and selected the lock button on the fob and noticed a red right was blinking (3" cluster). I waited about a minute for it to finish arming. I used the key to unlock the drivers door and as soon as I opened the door the horn started going off. Love your videos they are so detailed - Thank you.

First off I find your videos extremely helpful. I just purchase a 7" Speedometer and that is next, awaiting delivery! I will be using your AlfaOBD 7 inch EVIC Odometer Correction Engine and Idle Hours Fix video for it! On to the issue at hand - I have a 2019 RAM Classic and went through the process as described and no alarm. Hmmm, so I went back into the settings as described and verified it was set to on just as your screenshot depicted (no change required) so I am not sure since it automatically reverted to a 2018-2019 Body Computer if that's the issue. I suspect I am may be out of luck on this mod or perhaps additional steps/setting changes are necessary in some area outside of the current instructions are required. So a little technical background info: I am using Alfa OBD v2.2.0. Also I know the SGM Bypass is working as I used it yesterday to program my folding mirror upgrade (which using the Echomaster Lane Change Asst Camera on left and right plus front,, rear and rear travel trailer camera - when in tow). Just waiting on parts delayed due to, yes the virus (the gift that keeps giving)! Any assistance, ideas you may provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Nick, your truck does not need remote start for this to work. My truck didn't come with remote start and it worked perfectly fine. You will however need The truck to be remote enabled. Basically meaning you need the remote to make this work. (Remote lock and unlock) Although you said you had a 2009? I know some options on AlfaOBD May not work the same for an '09 to '12. Some options work and some don't. Great video . I have a 2014 Dodge ram the work model not the spendy one. Any ways I don't have the red light but seems mine has out keyless entry. I have locked and open the door and nothing happens. Yep, not only will this tool let you see what settings you have activated, it can also enable them for you. Lots of rams did not have this function activated. Especially if you had a Tradesman or Express. You can read more on what AlfaOBD can do if you tap the RAM FORUM link in my description under the video. Thanks for the compliment! Yes it will work. I have an st which is just a few options over an express. I have the 3 inch cluster so I did not see a red light either. But after doing this mod I now have a red light that blinks when alarm is set.

Great video, but it didn't work on my 2018 Sport. The red light comes on and blinks if I lock it, but no alarm if I open the door. This is really more of a comment for others trying it. Your vehicle may not be equipped.

If you have a fourth gen Ram all you need is AlfaOBD and an OBD2 reader (like the MX or MX+) if you have a 2018 or 2019 classic you will also need the bypass harness. I have links to everything in my description. To answer your other question, no need to install any alarm. Our trucks already have a factory alarm. We are just enabling the feature that is already there. Hope this helps brother!

That's a good question Brian. The alarm doesn't disengage when you turn the key because the wiring it's not connected to the keyhole.. It's connected to door, thus opening the door sets the alarm off. So the alarm would go off with or without a key being used. I use my key instead of breaking the window cuz I thought that would be a little too dramatic and costly...lol but seriously I don't think any modern car driver uses our keyhole anymore except for emergencies. I'm always using the remote. Thanks for watching and the support brother.

For me yes. I went through all the one by one and noticed that all of mine were already turned on. ( except for the factory alarm) at the end of my video I show a screenshot of the other functions you can go through one by one and they make sure that they are enabled. Quick note though: that led light will only show up if you have a 7 in evic.

I would try disabling it wait 5 minutes and then enabling it again. If that doesn't work reach out to all of us at the AlfaOBD thread in the Rams forum. David, that is a great question Sir! Yes it can. Unlike a tuner which would need to be married to each vehicle, Alfa OBD does not need to be. So you can use it for your car, a brothers or sisters car, neighbor's car, wife..... doesn't matter.... As long as they're in the Alfa Romeo family. Jeep, Ram, Fiat Etc. This is great but none of these trucks come with glass break sensors. Last night someone broke my back passenger window reached in and opened front passenger door from the inside all without this RAM’s useless alarm/anti theft systems doing anything….. alarm only sounds if door is opened from the outside. Sit in the truck lock with the OEM remote. Wait 30 secs min. Then open door from inside. If you don't wait 30secs after arm nothing will happen. Did you wait 30secs min?

Hey Howard, it's not a standard option for all Rams. there are options in these trucks that are enabled and not enabled, depending on your model. This is especially true for Tradesmen and Express Rams. The option is present in the computer but never enabled. This tool enables that option so it will work like any Bighorn or Ram Laramie edition. That is correct Victor, You wouldn't have to get the aftermarket alarm unless you wanted some bitching options in it. Like GPS tracking or LCD display or something of that nature. The factory alarm works just fine for me just hit the lock button and it automatically arms. Unlock disarms... Hope this helps out brother

Yes sir Jason, that is true, but something special happened in the year of 2013 which was the merger of Dodge and Fiat which enables alfaOBD to work with this amazing code. @@poolballpolisher I also have an aftermarket remote start. Mine is a flashlogic CH 10. Plug and play. (no cutting or splicing) 2014 Ram Express. No problems all works fine.
