Fil, you are hands down my most favourite reactor! It's not just about the music but what we could all take away from the performance as a whole. Thank you so much for sharing your motivational reactions! We'd love to have you come to Indonesia. Yes, Bali is a definite go-to place, I really hope you can get to go there someday. Visit the whole country if you can. Every city and island has a different culture, language, food, art, music, dance, scenery. It's a whole package in one country LOL :D ...Even as an Indonesian myself, I don't think I'd be able to visit them all This piece was sung in different languages (btw, you did pretty well with their names). The first part I'm guessing would be in Balinese (as the title suggests). Balinese is one of many of our local languages. Unfortunately, I don't speak nor understand Balinese coz I come from a different Island with a very different language. The second part is in Bahasa Indonesia, our official language. I can't help you with the first part, but here's some background for the second part 9:31 The song is called Tanah Airku (My Homeland) Tanah airku tidak kulupakan (My homeland, I will never forget you) Kan terkenang selama hidupku (You will always be remembered for the rest of my life) Biarpun saya pergi jauh (Even if I go faraway) Tidak kan hilang dari kalbu (You will never be lost to my soul) Tanah ku yang kucintai (My beloved homeland) Engkau kuhargai (I appreciate you) This is only half of the song. Alffy did a fuller version of this song 3 years ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIabnpKcnZp3iMk (This has subs, plus snippets of Indonesia's first president's voice including when he proclaimed our independence)... Tanah airku is not our national anthem or folk song but it's grouped as one of many of Indonesia's National Songs and taught in elementary schools across our country. Ahahaha, I even remember this is the go-to song for us if there was a singing lesson or class. :D Though I do prefer the more classical version of this song without electronic instrumentation, Alffy still did a great job still OMG, don't we just need more of these people who love and celebrate their culture? At the same time, open-minded to other views... The world would be so much more beautiful... I swear their not hyped up enough, and sometimes even shunned for their "new" ways... these are the things our children need to watch, not just what's on the mainstream media (not that it's all bad, but there are so many things that we're missing out).. Yup, I've stopped watching the news a long time ago... BTW, Can I dream one day people like Alffy and Dimash make something together?... please, pretty please :D .. Ahahaha Oh, I've also been listening to Atif Aslam (Pakistan) Maybe you'd like to hear it too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opjQZKOrhZing6M . This piece is called Asmaul Husna (The Beautiful Names of God). It's basically a reciting of the 99 names of God in Islamic Culture but with a musical arrangement. There are many versions of the reciting but this one is quite a famous musical arrangement originally from Sayed Mekawy (Egyptian composer 1928-1997). It's even famously used by kids if they want to memorize the names :D ... They rearranged it a bit here though. It's quite nice. Subs available in this version. Atif does other great performances, but this one was what got me hooked. OMG this was long... Bye ...

The girl is singing in the middle of the field called Tanah Airku (My Homeland). The song is the national anthem of Indonesia, not the national anthem of the country. Hi Warm Greetings from bali, My name is Wayan (first child's nickname for Balinese) I am Balinese. Yup, it is a picture of the life of the Balinese people. one of the traditional Balinese songs, which is usually sung during childhood, joking with laughter and dancing whose name is the Janger Dance. and the person who brought the flute, is the greeting of a Balinese artist whose name is Gus Teja. Then in the next video slide are the activities and culture of the Balinese people, where 80% of the population is Hindu (Balinese Hindu), which has a Concept or Life Principle with TRI HITA KARANA, which means Three Relationships that must be maintained. namely, the relationship between humans and God (spiritual), humans and humans (loving, respecting and maintaining harmony among others), and human relations with nature (thanking all of this universe). Then in the video there are several types of dances, namely dance. Janger, Rejang Dewa Dance (which is usually only danced during ceremonies at places of worship / PURA), Kecak / dance which is very famous, Legong Keraton Dance (which reflects the social status of royal women, Barong Dance which symbolizes the power of the universe that gives vibration positive, and positive energy, and the last is the Barong and Jauk dance / Mask Dance which means that wherever it is, positive and negative energies are always side by side, and cannot be separated. That is the real nature.

Your interpretations of the whole concept of this mv are on point! Loved when you explained about the structuring of this work. This piece opened with showing the beauty (daylight), continued with showing the reality of the current situation (grey), followed by a sense of hope (mother showing daughter how to do chores, the flag), and concluded with the message to carry the fire on, as the sacred land of Bali is protected by the ancestral spirits & guardians (dark/night, fire, warrior dancers, Barong).
