We indians have that lentil soup everyday with rice and vegges...by the way it is called "Dal" which is also of many types..🙂

Na bhai, Dal soup is dal ka pani. Plus, they have modified it with chicken and curry leaves. There are actually recipes for dal soups online. Dal ka matra bhi thoda kam hota hai, normal dal se. 😉

You soooo cruel .......watching you eat makes me nostalgic and reminiscent of long gone days when my mother used to prepare food like that. Boy do I miss that food especially as a South African Indian travelling most of the time , I envy you so much all I can say now is a big THANK YOU for reminding me of how enjoyable my life has been thus far....take care and do not stop producing excellent content.

Tips on Indian food: when you order a non veg curry they will typically bring you the dish with 4/6 pieces of meat. Use cutlery to further break the meat into smaller bite size pieces and the bread should be the size of a fortune cookie. The idea is to have enough meat+curry+bread till the last bite. Using a spoon or fork to eat rice+curry is very common and just a neater way of eating. Lastly when you order a mild curry you can ask for a green chilli on the side and take small bites during the meal to increase the heat factor as per the individual's comfort level...hope this helps...cheers!!

The best dal i ever tasted is one my mother makes and the Agri people ( farmer community) from maharashtra..Indian food is not the same everywhere.. u have to ask for south indian dishes, north as well konkan and malvani..try next time..

Also when you order a curry you can ask for a "Katori" which is a small bowl to eat your serving from. It prevents the curry from spreading all over the plate and makes it easier to dip the bread in

I was laughing when she called Dal as Lentils soup. It's a main dish which we have along with white rice or roti/chapati. There is a song which says Dal Roti Khao, Prabhu ke ghun gao.
