"all his villains are some kind of animal" is one of my favorite jokes in comics, because it leads to great lines like the Spiderman game for PS1 where Rhino asks "if I'm a rhino, he's a scorpion and he's an octopus, what's a Mysterio?"

Dr. Conners is actually a fairly nuanced and tragic character in the comics. Where the Hulk is a loose reference to Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the Lizard is actually an authentic and well executed examination of that archetype. But also yes, he is a big lizard in a lab coat 😂

@Alphonse I'm not saying the Hulk *isn't* a well written or nuanced character, just that the Lizard is a more committed exploration of the Jekyll and Hyde archetype and deserves merit for it. Hulk stories typically start with that idea in mind and then sort of go off in their own direction, which is fine.

Spider-Man 4 was also allegedly going to have Bruce Campbell as Mysterio, and reveal that every cameo he made in the previous movies was actually him spying on Spider-Man to find out his weaknesses. Given how heavily the Raimi movies leaned into practical effects over digital editing, and how Mysterio's "powers" were him being the world's foremost master of said practical effects, I can't help but think of how good Mysterio would've been in Raimi's Spider-Man 4.
@seanblack1320

Just saying, based on everything we knew Bruce Campbell was just gonna have another one of his famous cameos in the movie as mysterio being arrested during a montage in the movie. The main villain was going to be vulture with some assistance from Felicia hardy, so anything about a secret lore of the other Campbell cameos being the same guy is pure speculation.

Every villain has did it before. It doesn't even work any more, money isn't held in bags in vaults, and money can be tracked. And there's cameras everywhere. @@Original_Syn I mean, that's possible, but it feels really dumb to have two completely different characters who will never interact with eachother be the same person from a different universe. Plus, they typically keep the naming conventions for "Variants" (like how they're all called Loki's) so it would probably have to be a variant of the MCU main universe's Dr. Doom who looks like some other guy we've already seen. It would be possible, but I feel like if they did that it would be really distracting.

@@RaneBoDasch Yeah, but it would be really weird if they had Chris Evans play the Human Torch in the MCU. Most of the recast characters were minor characters, most of them have only seconds of screen time as their first characters, and although he was definitely underutilised, Madds was in a lot of scenes. It would be really weird, unless (since Dr. Doom's mask is welded to his face) they keep the mask.

Been a while since I've checked in. Glad to see Karl has a chair now I know it sucked for me when I had to stand all the damn time.

Speaking of weird villain names, I still think they should bring out Killer Shrike. Is he good? Not really. Is he well known? Pretty sure most of the people who know that one don't care. Do I think it would be hilarious to have a guy I've seen nobody talk about come out as an intimidating sounding minor villain nobody actually cares about (including the characters), who's whole thing is overshadowed by Vulture's thing being literally the exact same flight with life stealing powers? Yeah.

Suprised that the lizard was never named the reptile unless that was an already existing spiderman villain that I don't know about.
