You are a great teacher, I wish you can be my teacher. Thank you man !!!

What I learned from the comments. - Never have fun - Don't keep your students engaged If you want a more serious and refined explanation, why the fuck are you here? If you are still struggling, try a different video to see if it makes more sense. Half the problem with math, is the overcomplicating of something that is actually fairly easy. For the majority of students, overall class performance is much higher when students are engaged, and enjoying a subject. Math is an extremely difficult subject to make enjoyable, just give credit where credit is due.

I would like to just say Thanks for all the videos you have posted over the years. I have referred to them over and over for help with college algebra. With little to no help coming from my algebra instructor, I find some of the topics covered to be quite difficult. I believe I gain more math wisdom through your videos opposed to my current classroom. For that, I am very grateful for your videos and teaching methods.

True. But review of the formula is helpful. If you don’t understand the quadratic formula first, you will not understand the discriminant.

How do you solve the first problem with completing the square? Can you?
@Ken.- Жыл бұрын
Completing the square can be used with any number. The quadratic formula is derived by CTS for X. You have to divide all of the terms by a first. so that ax^2 + bx + c = 0 becomes x^2 + b/ax + c/a = 0 and solve it like normal.

It takes 5 minures for the instruction to begin & the constant laughing & interruptions from the class are so aggravating. Is it any wonder why a struggling student wouldnt watch these videos?

If I'm being honest, it makes it better. It allows the brain to calm down for a second and catch up! It may be your opinion that it's aggravating, but it's mine that it's better this way.
@andrewm6424 Жыл бұрын
A struggling math student who cares about passing math class will watch these videos and/or other math videos until they find a tutoring method that helps. The only struggling math student who would not watch these videos once they are brought to that student’s attention is the struggling student who does not care about graduating or doing anything with his or her life.

Well the majority of math teachers are not fun, and we can see how well that is working for students in terms of marks. Keeping the students engaged and interested in an otherwise boring subject, is key to getting all students to succeed, not just the ones who already understand.

ugh and I have this in 7th grade :( advanced math is not fun alge 1 in 7th grade no wonder we asians are stereotyped
@andrewm6424 Жыл бұрын
You call that advanced math in Asia. But Algebra 1 is supposed to be taught in middle school in the US as well (7th or 8th Grade). No US student will survive Algebra 2 without understanding Algebra 1, because it’s basically the same problems with new concepts and ways to solve.
