Since I am failing my class and legit have to retake a few tests before finals in order to make it possible to pass my class, I looked up on youtube how to polynomials. Thinking I would have to go through 40 videos to find a good one I clicked on yours. Right away your teaching style reminded me of my 8th grade prealgebra teacher. One who cared what the students had to say, was fun, and explained things slowly enough so that I could follow. I am thankful for your videos because not only are they helping me understand these topics, your making it possible for me to pass my class. Thank you so much for doing what you do. ❤❤ (even if these were made 2 or 3 years ago)

Just watched some of your videos and it refreshed me enough to pass the math placement tests (MTE) 1 through 5 so I could get into MTH151 in college. I also passed MTE 9 somehow but missed 6 thru 8. Thanks for uploading these and having decent audio!!! You actually saved me time AND money since I don't have to take a prep math course (which wouldn't count towards my degree).

Two different books and a software program couldn't explain what you did in a few minutes. Once again..."I wish you were my math teacher in..." I love how you make sense out of the different topics. If you had thousands of clones across the country, students would have the algebra foundation for the math needed in science, engineering, and high-tech jobs. BRAVO! Any chance of doing calculus video in the future?

I would love for you to come visit my school! I'm at a Title I school in desperate need of great teachers and student comprehension of what good instruction and what real learning feels like. I fear many of my students have not experienced the joy of learning math because of their anxiety. I watched your Ted Talk have tried to incorporate your elements of joy into the classroom. You are an inspiration! I will check back and let you know if my school takes guests.

Hi Lizzy! Thanks for your message. I would say it's worthwhile, but only briefly. It's good for division problems that involve exponents. But if you deem that your class won't do that type of work, I'd spend some time on it, then move into synthetic. It's a huge honor to be in touch with you about this, colleagues from afar. If your school arranges for guest speakers, perhaps I can come visit your school!

Dear YayMath- I am a teacher at school with Algebra 2 students who are not familiar with long division. I am going to teach them long division with polynomials tomorrow and am wondering if you would suggest in the future doing synthetic. Do you see value in knowing long division? Would love some advice for teaching to students who do not have fundamental fraction and negative content down (yet!). Thanks, Lizzy
