I actually did this exact same trip traveling from Amsterdam to Tangier overland over the course of a week. I cannot say however that the customs process on the boat was easy, in fact it was quite chaotic! I spent literally the entire trip in line with little communication about what forms I needed to fill out. That being said, it's still an epic way to enter Morocco. I also visited Gibraltar on this trip which I would highly recommend you visit at some point.

Oh really? Maybe the kind of stadf you have also makes a big impact. In the higher class staff also helped us filling in the forms, they even offered to take care of everything, however I prefer to keep my pasport within sight all time (although I trusted those people, so that's not the thing, if its possible I always keep my pasport within sight).

@@Trainviking yes that would make sense. I was in the regular class which was crowded and chaotic and nobody helped me at all. Next time perhaps I will upgrade!

@@benjaminjaffer1461 There shouldn't really be much confusion about the immigration form as there is only one form, not a selection to choose from, which has to be completed by everybody (including Moroccan passport holders). Moroccan immigration does tend to be slow. I suppose it all really depends on how busy the ferry is. One tip would be either to do your best to be first or else just pass your time until you can see the queue has almost gone and then go among the last passengers. I think there MAY be a separate desk for passengers in the higher class to go to but can't confirm this to be correct.

Hi! One recommendation, do take the ferry from Algeciras to Tanger Med, Tanger Med has a railway station and overall the ferries on that route are better quality. Side Note: I recommend Baleària or AML instead of DFDS/FRS, their ferries aren’t really top quality but still are great.

Can you see the rock of Gibraltar en route from the ferry?? Or do you need to travel from Algeciras to see the rock?

Hi! Did you get your passport checked at the port of Tarifa or you just passed straight away to ferry without any check points?

you will get the passport stamp on ship , there is a small custom section for passport
