They were all good but Chains were simply THE BEST.They were the KINGS of all the Seattle bands during that time era -by far! No diss at all to Nirvana - Pearl Jam.They were great but they seemed to get all the glory and recognition when Chains shoulda had it.Layne Staley was one in a trillion and was in a class of his own.I believe that Andy Wood of Mother Love Bone and his band were closer than anyone to being anywhere CLOSE to the talent of Chains. Love Bone were a mega talented band.Andy was a awesome songwriter and singer.I always wondered if He and Layne were friends. They were both the best in my book. Its sad they died way too soon.

The 70's gave me Zepp 2 and now we have this 90's grunge that can't b beat with the voice controls of today's rock variations. Layne was a one of a kind. He will always be remember by me that way to. Damn. That sounded just as good as the track on the album. Layne Staley could really sing - dude actually had a ton of soulful sound to him. I think he could have sang anything. What made this band so unique and different from other bands is that it had not only a great lead singer Layne with a wonderful voice but the background vocals of Jerry were always also great as well! This was a band that had two singers (a duett) that could sing really well and with harmonizing vocals!
