My girlfriend ran all the Emergency Medical Services at Starwood. Also met STP during their Core Tour, Smashing Pumpkins, as well as some others. Sean Kinney was crazy, he farted on the side of Staleys face with his shorts, boxers and all pulled down. Staley was napping on a couch. myself and Shannon were standing at the door to their dressing room, and he elbowed me and pointed their way right before Sean did it. It was FUNNY AS HELL!! Hardly 4 octave, that's Sebastian Bach organ Rob Halford. Lane was an excellent singer but never sang that high.
@RexytheRexy Жыл бұрын
His vocal range, in terms of the notes he hit that are documented, was F#2-A5 (1.5 tones under three and a half octaves). I'd bet he could manage another full note, taking him up to B5, but four is a major stretch. Most female vocalists can't hit an F#6, which is higher than the operatic soprano holy grail note. For an idea of how high an F#6 truly is, listen to "Gett Off" by Prince. It doesn't matter, at the end of the day, what his range was - it has very little to do with how truly gifted a singer is. As an example, Nina Simone is one of the greatest vocalists to ever walk the earth, and hers was a note under three octaves (G#2-F#5).

Wish I was there more then anything... too bad I was born in 91, but I love living in the last great era of music with pride.

Goddamn what I wouldn't do to have been there and hear that live. He did that perfectly, as good as the prerecorded album version.

If you wanna know why Layne was so great(in case you're fucking deaf), just try to sing this song and sound at least ok. As you wallow in a high note

Even if the rest of the opening is cut off, I love that opening guitar hammering! Then the bass kicks in!

Incredible. Im glad I saw these guys a few times while it lasted. Dirt came out my senior year of high school. That summer kicked ass.

20 and none of my friends listen to stuff like this. Such a pain dealing with people who have no perception of music as art and expression of one's self, and most importantly not being afraid of your emotions.

Look, I'm 19. I use to drive into the school parking lot blasting music like this in the morning. Other students would look towards my truck like I was from another planet. I guess kids these days will never realize the value and spirit of rock n roll. And i hate to break it to you gucci mane, these guys got more fucked up than you'll ever be...
