I was there. This was beyond words. You could feel Jerry talking to Mike and Layne during that solo. So cool to see him come front and center while Will stepped back to let Jerry have that moment. One of the coolest rock concert moments I've ever seen live.

I was there for my AIC what an amazing night to be there! Bush was great, Breaking Benjamin was awesome and my AIC was down right incredible. I've been a fan since 1990.., made this 55 year old feel ALIVE! This song was so emotional, was singing every word with William and was crying at the same time for my man Layne. Not easy to take over for such an unbelievable artist, singer, songwriter. AWESOME AWESOME NIGHT! Rest easy my 2 AIC's brothers

This singer hollowed this song, no feeling, no emotions. Layne was a once in a life time song writer and sing of our generation. Is he a good singer yes but will never duplicated the true feeling of these songs sorry to say. Great tribute though, wish Jerry would have not kept alive and chains going. If he wanted to continue, call the bad a new name. God bless !

It's so so difficult to replace lead singer of a band, I sometimes think it's probably best to pack it in. The lyrics are so personal and can't be replicated with the same emotion.

Something to note with Alice in Chains, it wasn't just Layne that did the song writing. Jerry wrote a lot of the lyrics for the songs himself as well. I think it was actually a near split on the amount of songs each of them wrote the lyrics too. An example of one of their main songs that Jerry wrote being "Down In A Hole" which was about a girl he was with.
