This album is growing on me so much. I really liked it when it first dropped, but of late, I caught myself falling in love with so many tracks. When Jerry comes in on Rainier Fog it hits so hard My god I love this band

For us teens who loves Alice In Chains, we were born in the right generation! The band is still kickin ass even after Layne. Forever will he be missed. I can absolutely tell Jerry had a blast with this album the band wouldn’t be the same without him , Duval is an amazing vocalist, I’m just so happy that they still make bangers and I hope they do for a long time!

Jerry has always been the musical heavyweight in the band. I think many of the newer fans would be surprised by just how much of the material was written by Jerry, and sung by him as well. He is the brain behind Alice in Chains, and has been since the beginning. There is no AIC without him.

For all of you that didn't grow up or live in the Pacific Northwest in North America (Washington State, Oregon, Idaho, British Colombia, and surrounding areas) during the 1970's and 80's, there were these Ranier beer commercials on television that featured their beer bottles with legs and arms .Rainer beer also had another commercial that started out with a long windy road to Mt. Rainer (tallest mountain in the lower 48 states in Washington State) in the backdrop and you would hear a motorcycle coming and pass on the road gradually building up making it seem like the exhaust sound was RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAIIIIIINNNNNNNEEEEEERRRRRR BBBBBEEEEEEEERRRR as he shifts through the gears. Tthen of course the obvious Sasquatch A.K.A. Bigfoot we are infamous for up here in the Pacific Northwest. I'm sure I totally missed the mark trying to explain it, and will hear about it so your best bet is to just do a vintage Rainier Beer commercial search on here. lol ***May 28,2019 - I just wanted to add I was quite shocked by the response on here and all the comment and love sent my way! I think all of the Alice In Chains fans are like one big family and we all cherish the old and miss Layne like crazy, but can appreciate and move on with the new members. Thanks to everyone of you that took the time to read my comment and reply, I wish all of you the best! No doubt, it was a great decision to continue, Jerry Sean and mike all deserved to continue on making a living doing what they love with the band they built, it’s super sad what happened to Layne and he’s a legend but AIC will always be Jerry’s baby. They may not be at their peak like they were with Layne but they are still one of the best bands in the business and rock live. William is also a great musician and a fantastic match with Jerry, they have fantastic chemistry and harmonize better than just about anyone, I can’t stand the William Duvall slander, we all miss Layne but he does a great job paying tribute performing the old music and he kicks ass on the new material, he doesn’t deserve the shit he gets from a lot of people. e things last Sometimes you never get over Live in the past, you find out it's hard to stay sober My see-through skin like Eurythane Lost and then found On view for all and I wouldn't trade You'd never know A long time ago you were frowning Thinking it over It's raining down, and somehow you know It reminds me why you carry me home You can find me writhing in the ghost of a song Rising through the Rainier fog Some people change, sometimes you leave how it oughta be Find a new way to come clean, let it wash over me My see-through heart like Eurythane Beats for you proud Up down and through all the love and pain You'd never know A long time ago you were crowning Thinking it over It's raining down and somehow You know it reminds me why I even care anymore You can find me writhing in the ghost of a song Rising through the Rainier fog Left me here so all alone Only for me to find Hear your voice on waves we rode Echoes inside my mind Disembodied, just a trace Of what it was like then With you here, we shared a space That's always half empty Grinding, grinding on Always half empty Grinding, grinding on Always half empty Ah, yeah So we can laugh, it's inside Never hear me complain My see-through city of cellophane You'd never know A long time ago you were drowning Thinking it over It's raining down and somehow You know it reminds me why I even care anymore You can find me writhing in the ghost of a song Rising through the Rainier fog It reminds me why you can carry me home You can find me writhing in the ghost of a song Rising through the Rainier fog

I’m 12 in 2021. I grew up to my parents loving rock... like I’m talking slayer, raining blood. But I am now a soon to be musician that listens to all different types of music ( except for country ) 🤮. But I can truly say that this is one of my favorite finds in rock.

I hate that people confuse Stadium Country for Country music. A lot of rock bands have back grounds in country (famously Nirvana). I really recommend you listen to "Teaser and the Firecat" by Cat Stevens, "At Folsom Prison" by Johnny Cash, "Honky Château" by Elton John, "American Beauty" by The Grateful Dead and if you really find that you enjoy real Country give "I'd Rather Be Sailing" by Black Oak Arkansas a listen.
@paganofthenorth4482 жыл бұрын
My opinion on Country Music is that those who hate it haven’t found it’s highest heights. Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash are expressions of music that weren’t just trying to be popular or billboard top 100 hits. There is true emotion and care in their music. The pain in Love Hate Love is found in Mr. Weatherman, Cash’s cover of Hurt, or Lonesome, Onry, and Mean.

@Guy Mcafee I've liked AIC since Facelift, and I like their new material just as much, it's just a bit different without Layne. But hell, why does that need to be brought up every freakin' time? Layne was amazing, Layne is not here anymore. Gotta carry on and I'm sure it's what he would've wanted.
@batigol475 жыл бұрын
@Guy Mcafee This song could have been on Facelift if not for the fact that it is a bit complex. A song like Stone could easily have fit on the Tripod album. Musically, Cantrell has been consistent and the fact is that he was always the driving force creatively (entirely not the case with Rage/Audioslave, where a creative force was added to another creative force). The year 2000 is random. Personally, I would stop at 1996 with Aenima, but I think the point is you're being arbitrary and contrary.

After losing my personal friend in 2002, I've been very against Chains with Duvall. I realized that I am being very selfish, for this is one one the last bands that still tours that I can experience & I thank you Jerry for reminding me why I still love you. See you in MD 2022 backstage! Yes, Duvall singing Layne's pain is hard to grasp, but I know he lives on through all of you, especially Jerry, Mike, & Sean. Plus I know Layne gives William his blessings, so I do too.

First time I ever visited Portland, I stepped into a bar during happy hour, they had a $1 can special, the sign just said "$1 cans during happy hour". I said I'll take one of the happy hour dollar beers, thinking they would ask what I wanted. Instead they just set a Rainier in front of me. I was advised by my local friends I was visiting that if you just ask for a beer in the Pac NW, you'll get a Rainier.
