If you're bilingual it's easier for your brain to detect dialect differences then repeat them. Most americans are just fluent in american english. There's actually a lot of research on the neurological benefits of knowing more than one language if you want to look it up.

I think it's because names (or the vowels within names) can be quite flexible when it comes to pronunciation, like i know multiple Sara's - for some of them it rhymes with Star, some of them it rhymes with Stair. I've heard people say her name as 'A-lee-sha' or 'A-lee-see-ya' instead of 'A-liss-ee-a', and pronounce her surname as 'V-eye-kander' as well. Very easy to repeat the correct pronunciation once you've heard it though :-)

+Max Marriott Yeah. The big studios are known for category fraud during awards season. It happens quite a lot. If they don't think the actors have a good chance in winning in their actual category, they try to move them to another category. It's like The Martian going into the Comedy category. And Rooney being nominated as a supporting actress as well.

One of my favorite non-US actress. Loved her in A Royal Affair and the Danish Girl was even better. Fantastic she deserve whatever award there is for both the movies, she was captivating realistic and not in your face like Angelina Jolie. And not to mention, she has such an innocent beauty to her face. Like a unique one of a kind look that suits many themed movies perhaps, sort of like a Keira Knightley or Cheryl Cole face. It's not the trashy kind of look but pretty.

c. 0:46 I love the fact that she said “I came, finally, to the age...” and did not split the verb (i.e. she didn’t say “I, finally, came to the age...”). I know it’s not a hard and fast rule and wouldn’t be incorrect, it’s just easier and rarer on the ear to hear this in spoken English.

The same thing happens when British stars are interviewed on American talk shows. In Europe we're more exposed to different cultures and languages, and world news is reported widely whereas in America it tends to be much more insular. I lived in America for 6 years and whenever I watched the news there it tended to focus far more on national news rather than worldwide news (which hardly got a look in) and that's probably still the case now. I think that more limited exposure to different cultures, etc, is why so many Americans seem to fixate on different worldwide accents such as the British one, for example!
