Snakes do fuck like that but they don't coil _that_ tightly. Usually. Some species have some rituals where two males coil basically as tight as shown there when fighting over the right to get a female. Yes, this does mean that some snake species' ritual challenges are literally equivalent to two dudes hopping in bed and dry humping each other in front of a girl to show which one of them is the best fuck around. I don't know why I find that so hilarious but it just kills me. Usually courtship duels among animals aren't _literally_ the action of sex, like, when two deer clash over the right to reproduce, the males are banging heads and antlers, which has _nothing_ to do with the actual sex that comes after for the winner. Most snakes use different methods of challenging rivals, but some of them, yeah, they do this coiling thing.

There's no way the anime that blew people's socks off one episode ago looks like this now." but it does. It's stiff, characters just bob up and down now when they walk, they've got generic lip flaps, and there are way more wide shots so characters don't have to be rendered with a lot of detail. Even worse than the animation dip is the truth that it's just not scary. All the stuff with the hair was ridiculous. Maybe I wouldn't be so harsh if it didn't take five or six years to make this series, but as it is, I just wonder why. Why did this take so long to make if it's just gonna look like this? If Uzumaki wasn't such a famous work and this was a brand new, unestablished series, I probably wouldn't keep watching. I'm glad Alicia's still enjoying it, and if anyone else still enjoys it, more power to you, but I was expecting a lot more. Hopefully it picks up again by the end?
