Pulse rifle, cocoon/hive, a swarm of Xenos and the iconic Xeno screech when they die - a solid tribute to Cameron's Aliens. I think what could have been cool is if Fede Alvarez included an moment where a Xeno molts into a Warrior with no translucent dome like in Cameron's film.

I wondered the same thing. Would the pulse rifle rounds trajectory be badly compromised by zero gravity. I can only assume that power of them would prevail same way as the raw power and thust of a space shuttle or rocket engine drive them in zero gravity of space.

Best scene in the movie! This was actually creative and new, but it also destroyed the horror vibes they were building. Letting your protagonist mow down 20+ of the movie monster with a futuristic assault rifle that automatically aims itself means you're not making a horror movie anymore. This is the kind of scene you'd expect from the 1986 James Cameron movie, an action movie. More than anything I wanted a new Alien film that uses modern technology to make the alien scary again like it was in the first movie. But they didn't even try to do that here. Fear factor was severely lacking in this movie. We got basic tension and disgusting gore, just like Prometheus & Covenant. But at least the characters weren't complete morons this time, except maybe the pregnant girl.

I would imagine that weapons brought specifically onto a space station would be loaded with ammo not armor piercing enough to go through the hull. In Aliens, they talk about the marines pulse rifles being loaded with explosive tipped light armor piercing rounds, which is why Ripley points out they shouldn't fire them around a nuclear reactor for fear of punching right into it. I would assume the variant rifles on the Romulus station weren't so piercing and lower power, probably how the hell they could cram 400+ rounds into the thing in one load.

Where did all the alien corpses go? They all just magically disappeared. She could've used one of the bodies as a shield to navigate through the acidic blood. Also there's no way half the ammunition could be used up after killing only two Xenos, this whole scene was overly exaggerated for suspense.
@FyoutubemadridMadrid27 күн бұрын
Good question, but it's a hallway and they're standing in front of an elevator, so they practically propelled themselves to the beginning of the hallway.... It's not the best excuse but it works, it's a movie so many things don't make sense, like how the aliens get so much mass in such a short time.

The only good part of the story -- the original alien coming back to life after being cocooned in space -- is shown in flash scenes, the rest infected with teenagers in space (a different story than Alien).
