Despite its paying homage a bit too much, it's still worth the price of admission. Beautifully shot with best Xenomorphs since Aliens, along with fresh, new scenes that were solid. Next movie needs all-new story with the return of the space Marines battling Xenomorphs AND Predators in an all-out war. Script is King.

The first reviews to come out are saying very good things about this movie! And I'm glad to know that Fede Álvarez continues to make good movies. I'm becoming a big fan of this director

I'm thinking the thing that took you out of it was Rook? Yeah, I was a bit distracted by it in his first scene, but after that I kinda went with it and just appreciated the homage. The other callback that was a bit hamfisted was Andy saying one of Ripley's iconic lines *exactly* verbatim from Aliens. They could have just had him saying part of it, and we would have gotten the reference without it feeling forced. But other than that, I love the film! And David Jonsson as Andy was amazing! I really want to see him in other things now.

Saw it last night I loved it for the most part, but the ending kinda spoiled the experience for me. So goofy. P.S.: Aliens is not only my favorite alien movie, but my #1 movie of all time.

Just saw it. Loved it. Was the big takeaway a particular characters part in the story? I thought it was fine, if so. No real complaints about this one. Amongst the best alien films, imo.

I'd advise people refrain from using Alien as the yardstick. That sets up every subsequent film that comes out for failure. You're never going to recapture that again, so wishing for every new film to hit that mark will only lead to disappointment.

I am not really scared of the xenomorphs. I think they wre cool. I do remmeber being scared watching the furst film but after that always thiught how cool the xenomorphs looked. Not looking to be scared here.

Alien came out as a Sci Fi / monster movie reminiscent of the 1950's movies that I saw as a kid . To me , it's odd that most people refer to it as a 'horror' film only .

Would’ve been better imo to not watch the older versions first and watch the this new version first as a stand a lone perspective then compare with the older one

Issue is, everyone uses the first film as the bar. Throw the bar away, else the comparisons will always stifle the enjoyment of new products.

The woman vaginally egg laying at the end, which hatches into a smiling engineer-human thing was a bit of a misstep, expecially with how rain uses the acid left in the broken egg to dissolve the floor of her ship to create a hole that it gets sucked through. Shocking, too, how she is able to use her smart machine gun to destroy the entire hive of aliens like they are nothing. Rain being the only survivor and signing off like Ripley in the end is a bit disappointing, too. That's my review anyway. Let me know what you think when you've seen it.
