Aliens Fireteam Elite in 2023 Is An Amazing Co-op Experience

This game has had mixed reviews and is underrated. Personally I'm loving this game. Almost 600 hrs clocked in since day one (with breaks to play other games and family/work life of course..lol). The fact its a L4D type kind of game but with actual character progression, weapons and attachments in a Xenomorph franchise, is AWESOME! To this day, I would love to see an actual "Raid" in this game (6 man, 12 man) and 1 or 2 new classes/Kits. I'm sure there are many others that would agree. In addition to character classes/Kits and builds, the Pathogen expansion with its trash and Queen boss fight, shows us that a raid is very possible to do. Come on Cold Iron studios....DO IT! One last major patch before you move to your new project. Hell... I'll gladly pay for that major patch.

AFE is super under-rated. I think i have like 400 hours in it now, once you "get good" the end game with all the challenge cards on Extreme/Insane gives the otherwise stale missions a lot of replayability and variety. Theres also a lot of build and team comp variety, each class has 4 ability options (base and 3 modifiers) and between all the other perk options and weapons theres a lot that you can mix up just on 1 class and thats before you look at building team comps or trying to tailor a build for a specific mission or challenge card. Unfortunately the games a horde shooter and lacking much story so Aliens fans are kinda left dissapointed (story is pretty short) while there are missing/broken features that were never addressed that leave horde shooter veterans dissapointed (like no comms, poor P2P connection, card farming etc)

@@AndrewSullivan-d3x I got the game when the DLC came out and had no issues getting into matches. Even last October when they did a QoL update matched were easy to get into before I moved onto other games. Fortunately though it's only 3 player, so it's not that hard to game a game going as you just need 2 friends.

How about a 6 man 12 man raid? That would be awesome. It's very possible to do.

@@stevenhidalgo2395 In horde shooters more players just means you have more people to cover more angles, you can create less defendable maps and still be able to man them but thats about it. KF2 nailed it with 6 players imo this allows players to split into 3 teams of 2 (1 fodder killer and 1 heavy killer) and hold 3 lanes (direction enemies can come from). AFE's teams of 3 really limits what you can hold and why so many people exploit doors to turn all the events into 1 lane holds. 12 players doesnt sound too interesting, you make the system requirements much higher as you need more enemies to saturate 12 players, chances of things devolving into mindless spam increases as AoE/spam becomes more effective the more enemies there are and if the maps are just splitting the team into smaller groups of 2-3 and holding however lanes then you still have the same gameplay as 6 players anyways...

Agreed, KF2 did a great job with that. I enjoy the concept of raids. It's challenging, rewarding and most importantly, having the ability to play with more of my friends and/or other players in a single run. I was thinking more along the lines of a WoW/Destiny type kind of raid concept where more roles are required, but in a simpler form for the AFE world. The last mission in Pathogen "Strike" did that just fine (fought through trash to make your way to boss, then beat the queen down). Simply repeat that in a raid concept, but with more players, bigger area, more enemies and bosses fights (with some mechanics) to collect that loot. Raid group size can be anything that's more than 3 man per raid group. I totally understand something like this would take some big work to be done, between enemies, map size to cater to the bigger group, New perks for each kit to focus on their primary role (Tank/Heals/Dps/Support) and other things like loot system, GS rating, etc. I just want to have some type of raid concept for "this" particular game that gets more players involved in a single run beating down the Xeno's. @@drunkbunny94​

The androids in orange suits are from Alien: Isolation (2014). The working Joes, manufactured by Seegson, WY's rival. Creative Assembly wrote that story, and everybody liked it, so for me is canon. That's possibly why they appear in AFE. You're lucky they're not active, though. Those MF "gave me the creeps".

I really enjoyed this game but when it came out on playstation for free but now the game just doesnt want to work everytime i play anything. The game stops mid mission and boots me back to ship sometimes the game just straight up freezes and i have to close it. Im on ps5 and i have a friend on the most recent xbox and hes having the same issues.

I really love this game... but since my fireteam was gone I have to use these stupid Alpha and Beta. Shooting in the back is soooooo great.

Many big streamers have failed hard to foresee the game's glory, which has come to fruition in the last two difficulty levels. They played around on "normal" for a few hours and their reviewes were misleading at best. Shame on them... the game could have been a great success with a higher playerbase

I tried this game recently, it just felt bad to play. Like the art looked good and the concept is cool, but something about the gameplay felt clunky and unresponsive.

It's a lot of fun! The only thing I wouldn't reccomend is matchmaking because people are ass at the game.

@@jackhammertwo1 you seem to have a very narrow worldview, so I'll keep things simple. The game feels bad to play. Movement felt floaty and aiming even moreso. "Good" movement doesn't mean something out of COD, it means something that feels good to play. And this game did not feel like that to me to the point where I refunded it.

Exactly, it's so infuriating having to restart a mission all the way from the start. The studio did a bad job with this game. Not even adding checkpoints is the most pathetic thing ever
