Putting covenant in a tier VINDICATION!!! Seriously one of the times I've been the most upset with movies is knowing that we won't get the last movie in this supposed Trilogy and find out what happens to David because he's such a fascinating character to me

alien isolation is pretty much like a game version of the original alien movie, where the other alien games are basically just shooters, isolation is a survival stealth game and you dont have any weapons against the xenomorph, the most you can do is to use flamethrower on it (like in the movie) but it dosent kill him, and you have androids who are also attacking you left and right and other people as well who fight you, i mean you have a gun but it dosent do anything against the xenomorph

The only Alien movie I thought was truly bad was AVP: Requiem. It gets a bad rap but I thought the first AVP was fun. Its problem was it was made PG-13 to draw larger audiences. I also thought Resurrection was fun (and very gross at times) in its way. So my ranking: Alien/Aliens A+ Covenant/Romulus A- Prometheus B Alien 3/AVP/Resurrection B- AVP Requiem F

i hate alien Covenant so much . killing shaw off screen and what they did with her and davids relationship just ruined the entire thing for me. there were so many more interesting things they could have done with those two characters together. im not sure if there was stuff that prevented her from coming back or if she didnt want to do another movie but being forced into learning an entirely new bloated cast of forgettable crew members that just got destroyed by david in some of the stupidest ways was not what i wanted to see after shaw escaped the with davids head in a duffel bag . if covenant wasnt supposed to be a continuation of the Prometheus story line and was just some random one off alien movie it would have been fine it had good gore and body dismoprhia and great special effects but as a sequal it just pissed me off

For me it's 1 Aliens 2 Alien 3 Alien Romulus 4 Prometheus 5 Alien Covenant 6 Alien Resurrection 7 Aliens vs Predator 8 Alien 3 9 Aliens vs Predator Requiem Resurrection is bad but fun and Alien 3 is boring with lackluster characters and it destroys the ending of Aliens. Aliens vs Predator Requiem would be higher at the placement of 7 but i can't see shit when watching the movie even on max brightness. The movie is so dark it's ridiculous.

Cool Tier list Geekdom! I personally love Alien a little more than Aliens, you should do a Predator tier list! I'm more of a Predator guy personally and I have strong opinions on the series! I will say though, I actually think Predator has a better overall catalog and I think it's consistently good and better than the Alien series as a whole. I only think there is one bad/awful Predator film! Hope to see it! 👍

For me personally: 1. Aliens - Theres almost nothing to hate about this film. The mother and daughter themes, the story, the characters, the music, the effects, the masterful direction are all spectacular. 2. Alien 3 - I couldn’t care less what anyone says, this film is amazing. I think I might even like it more than Aliens on occasion. I just love the dark, gothic, apocalyptic atmosphere, the somberness, the amazing music, and I love the powerful direction, the religious undertones, the themes of good vs evil, and especially the acting. I genuinely don’t get why people hate this film when frankly there’s so much to like and appreciate. Especially find it frustrating that people seem to care more about the behind the scenes troubles than the actual merits of the film. 3. Alien - I really wanted to put the OG in the number one spot since I technically like the slasher aspect more than the sequel’s action/horror, but I felt there was more to generally like about 2 and 3. That said, I absolutely adore Jerry Goldsmith’s score the most out of any film, the amazing direction, and the acting, and this film has my personal favorite Alien design courtesy of HR Giger. 4. Alien Romulus - I love the direction, violence/action, horror, set designs, effects, and the two main characters Rain and Andy, but generally I feel like the actual alien scenes are a little lacking, the use of Ian Holm’s likeness was creepy, and the last few minutes were kinda weird. But overall it’s good 5. Alien Covenant - I don’t really think the story is anything impressive and the characters are meh, but I love Ridley Scott’s direction, the cinematography, the music, the acting (particularly from Michael Fassbender), and especially the ideas in the film. 6. AVP - There’s honestly a lot to like about it, from action, to the main character, to the setting, and even music. Overall, I think the story is meh, but there’s a lot of love put into the movie and it’s very fun. 7. Alien Resurrection - This film is very stupid and the characters are incredibly aggravating, but I appreciate the effects, the set designs, the overall filmmaking, and generally the ideas. It’s got some very fun action and generally I enjoy it. 6. Prometheus - Again, I like Ridley Scott’s direction and ideas, I think the creature and set designs are cool, but I just don’t enjoy much else about it. 8. AVP: Requiem - Clearly the worst, but good dumb fun. Honorable Mention: Alien Isolation - Absolutely phenomenal. Clearly has a ton of love and admiration for the franchise and its characters put into every aspect of it, from story, to gameplay, to environmental designs, to music, etc. Note, this is not objective in the slightest, more just how I generally feel. Honestly I love all of the unconditionally and will watch any of them.

Alien 3 over the original? You need to be drug tested immediately 😂 JK obviously. For me, if it weren’t for the abysmal Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, Alien 3 would be the worst movie SEQUEL of all time, because it retroactively made Aliens worse.

@@dankairgadam8841 I just feel like on a story level, there’s more going on in Alien 3 than Alien, and overall I find Alien 3 more interesting in terms of aesthetic, atmosphere, and themes. Personally I’d throw the entire original trilogy in S Tier. Personally tho, I strongly disagree with the notion that Alien 3 makes Aliens worse in retrospect. I just don’t see how it does so, since it doesn’t take any established ideas from Aliens and completely recontextualizes them (for instance, taking Hicks and making it so that he was only interested in Ripley for her body and not for her personality or something idk). Also feel like if you wanted, you could just choose to ignore Alien 3 and Resurrection and treat them as almost optional endings/continuations. Actually, id kinda like to see some sequels that go into a branching timeline where Newt and Hicks are still alive. Kinda like how the Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchises have different timelines. Also, I know you didn’t say this, Geekdom did and I just wanted to add my own take, but tbh I don’t even view Hicks and Newt being killed off at the start as offensive lol. Like, it doesn’t bug me in the slightest. If anything, it makes the story more interesting to me by adding an element of tragedy, giving Ripley more hardship to overcome. I mean, i guess I’d have liked it if they were still alive, but for the story that was told, I’m not upset by their deaths in the least. But I do wonder what a retelling of Alien 3 with Hicks and Newt would be like, or perhaps even a retelling in which only Newt survived the crash landing, and a comatose Ripley dies from a chestburster coming out of her in her coma

I think the first AVP is ok. Nothing great, but ok. I don’t think it deserves all the hate it gets considering the concepts it has. AVPR is the clear worst in the series and makes the first one look so much better. To be honest I find AVP much more watchable than Prometheus and alien 3. I don’t think it deserves a d.

I feel like AVP series are Slashers films more than they're alien movies, As a SLASHER fan I would recommend avp to someone but as a ALIEN fan I wouldn't suggest someone start with those. Also iirc those films came out around that same time slashers were popping off in the early 2000s, also during the Freddy vs Jason era.

Alien is my favorite. Aliens is a close second. Alien 3 is turbo ass. Resurrection is almost so bad it's good. I only saw the AVP movies as well as Prometheus once, and I don't really rember them at all. I never even saw Covenant. Romulus was ass though. The characters were either boring or stupid, there was tons of cringe member berries, and the plot often made no sense, like how the hell did they find the alien from the first movie just floating out in the middle of space, and how was it still alive too.

Problem with Prometheus was it had anime levels of dumbing everyone down to get from point A to point B at all costs .
