I think it's fitting that it use to be the only way to UNLOCK death as a playable character was to quite literally "cheat" death. The randomized stats Missingno was nuts too. I built a character that was so slow controls were reversed. His Area of Effect was so large that an entirely upgraded garlic covered the screen top to bottom, lightning struck so fast that for most of the game enemies never made it past the screen border, and attract orb magnetism was grabbing crystals from off screen. Laurel was nuts too because it regened so quick the reapers forever couldnt kill me WITHOUT clock lancet. Made it to minute 60 with a crowd of reapers around me... had to quit. Damage numbers looked like a clicker game with things like "3.7T damage" on weapons. What a fun character it was. Perhaps I should play this one too?

Crossed "the line" unnecessarily by passing a law because I didn't know that existed, and didn't know you could get steam cores from Tesla City so didn't have automatons. I think I had like 12 deaths in the cemetary as well as the coal mine sacrifice deaths. Toward the end it became more of a waiting game. I've even seen people on Reddit complaining normal was too easy. Where is the difficulty spike you're talking about? I genuinely don't know. When I replayed on Hard I found that the first few days were the most brutal before I had anything set up.

I still hope MissingNo will come back eventually though... just to add a thing about killing the Reaper, especially since the update (for those that haven't unlocked him): The old Empty Tome method doesn't work anymore, and I found 5 methods that do, but they are a lot less reliable. But I needed 13 attempts for the 5 successes, so it's not horrible. -Spellbinder instead of Empty Tome -Empty Tome and no Spellbinder -Spellbinder and Empty Tome -Garlic and Empty Tome -Garlic and Spellbinder Knifes are always used. If no Garlic, then use Magic Wand/Holy Wand. If Garlic, then...it's Garlic. Though I understand anyone who says this is too annoying and they just mod him in, it can take anything from an hour to several days until you get a run that has good RNG and is also not punishing for mistakes you did that you can't know (you only know how to respond to certain Reaper movement if you've been there many times, if you keep failing it's not your fault. It's just insanely hard and RNG reliant).

I wouldn't be surprised if being able to pick up the axe when you have the scythe is a coding mistake. The game doesn't allow duplicates, this is evident by not being able to pick up pre-evolved weapons when holding an evolved weapon. But the code for this is probably built on the fact that you've already had that pre-evolved weapon, so the game doesn't check evolved weapons when generating level up or chest drops. Because Reaper is the only character so far that starts with an evolution, the coding for this would have been overlooked, all that's needed is the evolution check when drops are generated. It'd also be cool if they'd add other end-game bosses based on evolutions, then make them playable characters upon defeat. This could also make the endgame more interesting, instead of just endless reapers, it'd be random spawns of bosses.

I think people underestimate the value of Attractorb. I've seen people rate it really low, but even before it was used for an evolution I thought it was fairly strong. I think this run died due to some bad luck with no empty tome or duplicator, but I think taking attractorb would have done it too. Near the end, when Tyler was getting overwhelmed, he was unable to collect the exp, and whenever he did get close to it, he would only grab a couple points of it. Attractorb might not be as good as empty tome, spinach, and duplicator, but it's better than people give it credit for. It makes leveling so much easier, even if you don't take santa water with it.

I think it would be cool if there was a character like The Lost in TBOI. It has 1 hp (or no hp), a level 1 laurel that doesn't take up a weapon slot, and maybe 1 revive as well. All of its other stats would be boosted as well to balance out dying in 1 hit. I'm not sure what it's starting weapon would be, but maybe it could be the Peachone if it is going to look similar to The Lost. To unlock it, I think it would be fitting if you had to win without taking any health damage (aside from the reaper at the end).

He's not That OP surprisingly. Sure he starts with an already evolved axe so his early game is strong, but Porta's lightning ring with 95% cooldown reduction is arguably stronger for the early game. Stats wise he has high base health, but his incredibly fast movement speed can get you into trouble more often if you aren't careful. Lastly he has a base 45% might (damage) increase, but receives no scaling from levels. Lama starts with 35% might boost and he gains 5% Might, Move Speed, and Curse every 10 levels, for a max increase of +20%. That takes his damage up to a whopping 55% base increase without spinach passive or power ups, and up to 130% damage increase with both. All the characters are pretty OP for specific things really with the exception of Gennaro and ExDash. The reaper's only real strength is early game.

MissingNo. with "cursed" text is probably an homage to the glitch in the original Pokemon games for Gameboy. The most OP pokemon you could get, completely bugged, it wasnt even a pokemon it was a placeholder in memory.
