@@Dimetropteryx At least on the dropship part and atmospheric processor part you're wrong imho. They would have likely not stopped out in the open and instead gone back to the colony if they had successfully pulled out of the processor. If it didn't they could have simply left the colony, gone a safe distance away and used the APC to pilot down the second dropship. In the novel of ALIEN 3 it is mentioned twice how expensive long range deep-space communication is. I therefore believe that sending Bishop and his crew and the 'Patna' to Fiorina 161 must be extremely expensive too. Based on a huge price-tag WY surely did not send their team to merely save Ripley from the Queen and destroy the latter. Watching the movie in the cinema in 1993 in Germany I found three clues that Bishop lied to Ripley and one big statement showing how manipulative Bishop II was. 1. Explaining the medical procedure to Ripley he makes this grabbing and twisting hand-gesture which (to me) does not indicate a smooth procedure to save Ripley but rather how they would yank the Queen out-of Ripley with little concern for anything but the Queen. 2. I am paraphrasing from the german translation, and Bishop II first mentions 'it cannot live, we are here to destroy it'. Then when Ripley slams the door close and shortly before Aaron attacks Bishop calls at her, begging her to allow him the operation, as 'it is a very special specimen' and 'there is so much we can learn from it'. If it is special, then WY would not kill it and, clearly, WY could learn more from the Queen when she is alive then merely having an obduction on the Queen's corpse. 3. Attempting to manipulate Ripley in telling her 'you could still have children. A daughter?' Bishop II clearly knew about Amanda Ripley-McClaren and her death and the break-down Ripley had when Burke informed Ripley about her dead daughter before her hearing with vanLeuwen. All in all, Ripley would most likely would have died either way.

Remember that also in the original script and book the Xenomorohs have a neurotoxin administered by their tail which paralyses humans in seconds, this alone but seemed to wear off with absolutely no side effects (the reason Gorman was unconscious in the script/book rather than being knocked out), this alone would be a valuable item if weaponised. The armour possible would be incredibly valuable, as mentioned, as would their ability to sense potential human hosts, which if understood could be turned into potential tracking devices. The possibilities for a weapons division with nefarious intentions would be huge... if they lived long enough to see any of them through to fruition!
@faceless23022 жыл бұрын
The Company wouldn't be content with just observing I'm sure, they'd want tests done. I think the best case containment is some sort of space station hub with detached pods for specimen containment. Try to keep study entirely remote through camera feeds where possible, but offer a way for pods to be moved by crane or by thruster to dock with the station so synthetics can bring them in for autopsy or whatever is needed. Have everyone live and work in groups to avoid lone people getting infected without anyone knowing. Hard part is finding a way to provide ventilation to staff without the use of conveniently alien-sized air ducts because that's just begging for breached containment. Of course it's Alien, it's going to go wrong and everyone is going to die, but on paper it's probably about as best you can do without a full staff of synths which may be prohibitively expensive.

There is a theory out there, which you touched on, that even though there is an ideal gestation time, it can be expedited prematurely if certain conditions present themselves, such as imminent danger to the host, or a command from the Alien Queen. That would explain why gestation times have always varied widely throughout the series. I'm in the camp that believes Bishop 2 was indeed another android posing as a human to persuade Ripley. The "rescue team" instantly expedited their arrival when the medical scan communicated to them the fact that Ripley was gestating a queen. What this says to me, is that they were actually there in orbit the whole time. It was this company ship that arranged the events of Alien 3, planted the eggs on the Sulaco, arranged the crash, all as a field test for the bioweapon. They are coming specifically to get that queen, that is the reason they expedited, so they probably have equipment close by to freeze Ripley for however long they need to.

Yeah, it'd tear its way out of her chest before they could even get a few steps towards the ship. If they'd have arrived an hour or so earlier, they may have made it. Of course, it's likely she'd have been disposed of during the operation to remove the Queen.

At the time Alien 3 came out... no one knew just how evil Weyland Yuntani was going to be. There are two additional clues as to what was going to happen to Ripley. Both of these clues came after Aliens 3. Clue 1: In Alien 4 Resurrection: General Perez only wanted the specimen, he didn't care about Ripley, yet leaned towards 'disposal" of her. Now this has nothing direct on the story in Alien 3, however, it is a clue laid down by the writers and maybe the producers as to what fate was going to befall Ellen after surgery. Only in Alien 3, Ripley was even less "special" to WT than Ripley-8 was to the scientists in A4 ---who they wanted to play around with for a while. Clue 2: (and as you stated from ACM) In that Video game (and maybe the Book adaptation of Alien 4), it was passed on that NO ONE could survive the operation ---at least long term. It acts as a cancer spreading out tentacles into each organ and leading to the spot of the Xeno's artificial invasive womb. A constant drain on the body's nutrients being piped into that area over and over and growing back if parts of it were removed. Think of that movie "The Ruins" how that plant was roaming around just under that girl's skin spreading its spores and growing inside her. Similar situation with the Facehugger's spores it used to make its womb with. It would have been a painful experience to go through. This was in a way a hint that even WT knew this and would have felt they would be doing her a favor by ending her life. They also, would be removing the last witness to all of the Xenomorph's history on Nostromo and LV426. WT could literally make up any story ... cough.. "Complications" from emergency surgery" etc All in all, Ellen was smart and wise enough to foresee their murderous intentions once they secured the specimen. Thus she falls into the abyss. I don't like these two films at all. And if i could ever do my own film line of Ripley's saga with the Aliens... I would have her wake at the beginning of a film with her husband Hicks beside her... asking her "Which dream was it this time?" Crysosleep nightmares are talked about at the beginning of Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3 movie adaptation books. Fitting to assign those two movies as "Cryosleep nightmares". To dismiss them respectably from the timeline. However, I would also consider a "5th' film, picking up from Alien 4. My brother had an idea about Ripley 8 and the Android making their way to Weyland Yutani and using their secret 'Time machine" to go back into time and try and stop everything. His story, has Ripley slowly changing into a Xenomorph herself... and ending up on the very Juggernaut ship that Kane got his face hugger attack. Ripley's last act in the film would be to try and warn the Nostromo with a beacon and a message. However, in a terrible twist of horror, at the moment she is recording the message, she has fully changed and her voice would be indistinquishable to the crew. Just think... Ripley and the rest of them listening (in that deleted scene) would be unknowing that they were hearing Ellen's own voice on that recording... its just that it was now a Xeno voice. Spooky ending... and that deleted scene could be used as the very ending to that "Alternate ending" film idea.

I presume Morse was killed in the end of the day. They simply spared him temporarily to be interrogated as the only source of information at that point - to get intel on the actual events. Or perhaps he was locked up for life, isolated, for future interrogations.

Maybe the little xenomorph is so adept at reading the host it could feel the adrenalin rush and release of bodily DMT, that comes to a human near death, thus - burst out of Ripley.

This really got me sad when I saw this, knowing it was Weaver's last Alien film (At the time that was her words) I knew she was going to die because Ripley wasn't going to trust Bishop 2...she's not stupid despite how desperate she wanted to live.

Great work! Love the colour adjusted footage. She did have the greatest power at the end. But then the company decided to bring her back for extra profit. the company being 20th century fox. Alien Resurrection should never have happened. But a sequel to Alien 3 should. It’s very plausible to continue on Fury 16. Sold as crap. Then bought by a different company. The planet still has natural methane. This could be a business opportunity. A team would map out the facility to determine its integrity and viability. Only for the team of researchers to encounter an egg. While construction is underway to adjust the facility. The alien would go on a killing spree. No Ripley this time around ofcourse. It would be all new characters.

The most disturbing thing about Weyland-Yutani is the fact that for all the intelligent people they employ, businessmen, scientists, engineers and so on, they can't seem to get their heads around the fact that the xenomorph CANNOT be controlled. They have all this evidence presented to them and they still don't get it. They still want it. Truth is, those people just don't care. That's disturbing.

If the last scenario had occurred, it would not have been 100% certain to Ripley that the cause was the Alien Queen extracted from her. The Company would have insisted that the source was either the ship on LV-426 or somewhere new and its true that Ripley's sacrifice only delayed the Alien threat, it did not totally eliminate it. So while Ripley would have her suspicions, she would never know for certain if the blame rested with her or not.

I remember reading in a comic, all though I don't remember which one, that it was mentioned that humans who were hosts to a xeno, but had it removed in time, are irreversibly physically damaged. So even if she believed them and had it removed, and the company held up it's part of the bargain, she might have ended up with a significantly shortened lifespan. If any.

In the first movie it was "crew expendable." But in the second movie Burke talks to Ripley about sending back two face huggers and being compensated very well by the company so I tend to believe Bishop 2 was telling the truth about giving Ripley the opportunity to have a family and have alot of money in exchange for the queen.
@gottfriedosterbach39072 ай бұрын
They got you then. It is their mo when in a spot to dangle money and promises to lure them back into a position where WY can get back on plan. Promises are going to be kept where it is in WYs benefit to do so. The other party needs to be of ongoing value and the terms and risks acceptable from their perspective. Ripley only has temporary leverage and she is doomed in this case.

I always liked the idea of an alternate Alien 3 where Weyland Yutani isn't trying to secure a specimen, but in stead decides to cut its losses, so it still tries to kill anyone who could be a witness.

Man, I love this channel as I could have a conversation about anything Alien for hours. I love Alien 3 for it's dark tones and it doesnt deserve all its hate, It was a fitting ending to Ripley's character and in sense the true ending to the story. All Alien stories don't have to fit into the 3 movies cannon, which is the way I like to view them. Resurection to me is a "What if?" side story, a whole lot more lore is waiting that could come to the screen if they took this approach. I would love to see a what if about Ripley going with Bishop II only to die before leaving Fury and a hive being established there. It could re-introduce the Colonial marines with a new group we could all love and all while putting Ripley's character to rest. It's the chance of a lifetime...

Ripley would likely never have been spared given her animosity towards the aliens. The decision to spare Morse was likely more due to the suspicious nature of all witnesses but Ripley perishing at both encounters on the Nostromo and at Hadley's Hope, allowing Morse to live makes it look far less like Ripley's death is closing off loose ends by eliminating the last survivor. Given that he's a life prisoner he would more than likely have gone along with any story he was told in exchange for better living conditions or the company being able to bribe his way to a parole. It's likely that a story would then have been concocted with Ripley as the cause of the deaths on LV-426 in addition to Fury-161 with some reference to paranoid delusion about 'alien species' being given as her motive, perhaps having snapped and destroyed the Nostromo (which was already on record) they could have said she caused an overload of the processing station on LV-426 believing it would wipe-out her 'imaginary aliens' and then after a freak fire on the Sulaco set about murdering the prisoners on Fury believing they were aliens or infected by them, before killing herself to prevent capture for her crimes?

Great video! Learnt a lot there! I would be happy to see a third assembly cut with updated effects. The original (Alien3) will always be there wether you are a fan or not, I think the extended cut is the best version and it’s a shame that cut wasn’t released instead of the theatrical version. But combine everything with some new/polished Alien shots, I would I’d be up for that! Shall we start a petition to Disney? Keep up the great work! 💪

The bishop line was basically the creator going full Hojo. His mind baecame fused with the ai interface of the cybernetic body although some models showed some deviancy. I doubt a deviant was in control, however I am sure the model shown simply received the full memory of Bishop 1 as an automated backup which influenced the way they interacted with ripley in the end.
