Boy I miss my days FLA fishing. I would never take a survey fwiw. I did that once while fishing near Moore Haven in Caloshatchee canal and end up with not one but 2 FWC coming around to inspect my catch which was pumksed head bluegills. I did a lot of inland fishing from HWY60 to north of Florida City.

My experience with these Wildlife Biologists is that they approach you coming into a busy landing where people are waiting to either launch or take out. I advise them to wait until I’m loaded and out of the way before I answer their questions.

I see many alligators while kayak fishing here in SE Louisiana, but I've never had an aggressive one approach anywhere close to my kayak. I've turned a corner into a bayou and have seen 3 swimming on the surface and they always sink underwater and disappear. I've had a couple hold their ground when approached for a photo and I hear it means they are guarding a nest. I also carry a handgun in my life jacket pocket but I have considered just poking them with my fiberglass stake out pole if one approaches. Now, I am glad that we have no crocodiles here in Louisiana - that is a horse of a different color I understand!

Dude is just doing a survey to see how much fishing is effecting the environment and gathering information on what kind of fish are around, and how the environment is at the time. Kind of annoying but fishermen are out on the water and are actively catching the fish they are trying to study more than they are. We are there best link to learning more about the fish.

So, these guy work to adjust the sizes and info from the fishers, i have had the experience of meeting these guys. Cool, they are here to protect you and the fish kind of, they aren't law enforcement, nor do they try to catch rule breakers. However, you could get yourself in trouble by saying you kept a short because. They ask if they can bother you and you don't have to answer their questions but it helps the know what's being caught.

Wtf? Just to kill? Let me say this lil college guy about your harvest bs. I'll limit out on every target species i can, that fish will freeze and taste the same had it been eaten the day of catch. Although I enjoy fishing, im also there to feed my family. 3 fish wont feed me much less my crowd. In most cases we drive hours to fish, hotels, food, fuel, insurance, license fees etc.. this ol boy is going to fill his cooler regardless of wtf he thinks.. limitations on catch is worse every year it seems and its NOT due to the average angler. Go talk to these commercial fisheries that drag a 1/2 mile of nets then shipping their catch off to foreign countries. wetting a line for a species i can only harvest 3 of aint worth the effort.
