Awesome video Alina! You seem to be really enjoying yourself in Sri Lanka. I'm seriously thinking about going there in June/July if I can find someone to look after my dog for a few weeks. 17:55 BTW that's a rambutan, not a lychee. Or as I used to call it when I was a kid, a testicle fruit 🤣

You absolutely should! Just make sure you check the weather for where it is you want to go because June/July may be rainy in the south but good in the north. And really? The inside looked and tasted like lychee to me but true the outside looked different 😅

@@AlinaMcleod Yep, rambutans have those red threads on the outside and are drier and tarter than lychees. A lychee skin is dimpled and looks more like a golf ball than a hairy nutsack 😀 From what I gather June/July is ok weather-wise. The monsoon is in autumn, and summer gets a fair amount of rain but the weather is decent most of the time. They say the best time to go is February-April, but that's not the easiest time to travel work-wise.

Wow.. You just nailed Ella my dear and I really liked the fact that you did everything in moderation, starting from accommodation to the rest of the activities.. 👌👏👏🙏 I see, accommodation was excellent, just basic, clean, and good enough to rest and have a cozy night's sleep and you couldn't have asked for more, right 😮😍 You do get fancy looking places with extremely pricey tags, but as long as they all give the same basic necessities, you don't mind staying in any of those right, and this is my personal view.. 🤩 So getting back to your days activities, I really like your hike to little Adams peak which is spectacular though I myself never done this hike before, but I did Ella rock a coupe of times which was absolutely out of this world,but it does take a heavy toll out of your body. .. Infact, I was sweating like a pig as I was ascending and descending this peak and you could hardly do anything else once you come down from the top.. 😢 Btw, Are you going to take this hike or not during your stay in Ella ?? As for your lunch, it was a typical srilankan meal with lots of side curries and I hope that you had used your fingers to eat it, otherwise you will not get the real taste of it and the texture will be different ..😊😍 Finally, happy to see that you look sooo happy in Ella more than the time that that you had in galle where your apple cart was disturbed by the dreadful heat.. Lol 🤩 🤩 So, be safe out there and enjoy the cooly, breezy, cozy and enthralling vibes of spectacular Ella.. 🙏 Blessed weekend to you too and see you again at mirissa, but mind you the weather will be of no different from galle unless you decide yourself to spend more time of your schedule on the beach itself.. 🏖️😊 Bye for now.. 👋👋 Hugs.xoxoxo Gams ❤️

Having the priviledge to live in a Sri Lankan household, I would say the hospitality is unbeatable. The food is amazing btw! Over where I'm from, there's dosa's, and also tried this dish called Kutu! It's amazing. It's sad to know what our people go through back there in Sri Lanka, but they also deserve to love the way we love. And btw Alina, my Fiance and I think you're super gorgeous and the hometown girl every guy should want LOL. If you're ever back in the 6ix, and you have a meet up, I would definitely love to join! We stayed two nights at the Ella Ravana Range Hotel. The view was amazing. I loved the mornings, sipping coffee on the porch while watching Ella Rock, Ella Gap, and the waterfall simultaneously. Pure dream. Lovely people, awesome food and breath-taking scenery truly the pearl of south Asia.

Aw, you visited the country of my ethnic background :). For anyone else interested, visit Sri Lanka for the wilderness and the boonies. It's a country that prides itself on its tourism and will give you beautiful opportunities to explore the nature. Birds, mammals, greenery; beautiful. Visit the ancient temples, ride the trains, visit the elephants, gorge on the fruits (Stay away from the street meat), and enjoy the tea Plantations (Especially the ones in Nuwara Eliya).
