it’s a very legit opening if you know a little bit about the theory, it’s deff not that easy to win with white against a well prepared dragon player.

Arjun went on a three-loss streak against Nepo, Alireza and Kravtsiv towards the end of the event. Otherwise, his overall play was exceptional.

grand master Erigaisi played beautifully. He did not "get a lesson" from Firouzia as some claim. I think he was winning in 8:40 but should have played Kh8 instead of a5

Perfect Meir.. erigassi has nothing to learn from his opponent. He knows whats happened but discussed something out of his usual talks. The way he took time and promoted hisQ , all the back biters here has to stop and listen, admist time struggle. Erigassi is the winner here, the Indian personality of chess, on the footsteps of Anand

It's a good time to be alive seeing the best of their generations clash. I hope magnus can retain his prime a little longer his been in bad form several times I believe since November of 2020 when Wesley won that online rapid tournament don't remember the name of the tournament, but when he is in form there is no doubt he is the best at the moment. Wesley said so after winning the tournament that, it's depends on magnus form. But firouzja is definitely getting a foot hold of that level and soon enough would climb and stand at the top.. hope both are in th best form when they clash in wcc in the future

Don't be misled. Arjun is a beast and he finds moves that even all-time greats like Anand couldn't. I consider him just as strong as Firouzja himself in blitz. I wish he could have white against Firouzja to see how he does.

Arjun was in theory until Bc4 and pretty much after that he had a much clearer idea on what he was doing, and had a better position. Alireza is just better in blitz

Great chess players in a battle against their deodorizer. One of the most inaccuracy-ridden games I've seen from a set of top GM's in a while. Blind panic from both sides.

Im 2000 rated player but i cannot spot the blunders and inaccuracies in blitz games between 2 grandmasters. Why are you against the engine bar? For me its very educational to see the evaluation change after each move!

Believe me there wont be any Indian GM in the future who could even dream of winning against Firouzja in the next couple of years....whereas Indian GM's just keep dreaming of reaching Candidates whereas other GM's dream of winning candidates and becoming challenger to the World Champion.....last time any Indian played in Candidates tournament was Vishy Anand in 2014....but he too didnt qualify for Candidates 2016.....!

Queen or rook, alireza was anyways going to take it with the bishop, since alireza's king would be in check. I think he just made a piece to deliver the check, rook would also suffice

King on c1 is slightly exposed on dark square diagonal. And Arjun's dark square bishop is basically a dragon in the game. It can give a deadly check or pin from h6. So king to B1 is a prophylactic move to avoid such threats.
