Hi Ali. Im a student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee ( one of the few schools chosen by the U.S Department of energy )and Im also a civil engineering major but I also took some EE classes. I dropped out of EE because I wasn't expecting that much versatility in the major. We did circuitry and computer coding simultaneously, plus Lab TA's I had were horrible since the TA for the introductory EE course hasn't taught me how to build circuits ( He told me I should learn by KZbin instead ). This was last semester, fall 2023. This semester I took civil engineering classes, plus the Calculus 2 retake ( the hardest calc class ) and I got a 3.2 GPA for this semester. I feel happy because I took statics engineering class ( one of CE's most important classes ) and got an "A" in that class without having taken Physics 1 and Calc 3 first. I just wanted to hear your thoughts on civil engineering vs electrical engineering. I've seen some of your videos and Im starting to like your channel since your feedback is helpful. I see you have an extremely bright future ahead of you. Btw I saw you were playing chess on the PC. what's you chess rating? I ask because I also play chess too and my rating stands at 1300-1500, though Ive been playing for a year. I think chess should be mandatory for engineering students since it fosters critical and analytical thinking skills. Would you agree with me on that one ? Just saying,,,

Glad to see your move to Massachusetts from Upstate NY! I am taking in a lot of inspiration from you, and I am currently considering two career paths: Physician (Surgeon) or an Electrical Engineering PhD (with a focus on AI, since I am interested in that, but going into industry). I think you faced a similar dilemma, so it was interesting to see your video on that. I, on the other hand, have no problem with memorization, but I also like Physics and have an interest in technology. Your project is very cool though, God knows we need that high-speed Internet. Do you plan on staying in academia or going into industry later on?

@JohnSmith-hr7fl8 ай бұрын
@@user-ms7xn3sf1t I don't think AI is just a trend though, it's rapidly developing, and large companies are putting in a lot of money for AI research and development. I might pick it because I am amazed by it, and amazed by what it might be able to do in the future. If I do pick it, I'd like to be more on the hardware side though regarding AI (such as robotics), which is why I thought about going with EE.
