" These Brahmanas take the disease of caste system wherever they go, Beware"...Dr B R Ambedkar
@NativeVsColonial3 жыл бұрын
Birth-based Caste is a superstitious system, however Varna was the original system, in Varna there was no upper or lower, people chose the work of which they are qualified for and according to Bhagavad Gita, anyone can be a Brahman (Teacher), Shatriya (Warrior), Vaishya (Trader), Shudra (Labor) based on knowledge and skills: 🔹In Bhagavad Gita 4:13, Krishna says that he created different Varnas (Profession) on the basis of one's Karma (Activity) and Guna (Quality). 🔹Bhagavad Gita 5:18 "The truly learned, with the eyes of divine knowledge, see with equal vision a Brahmin, a cow, an elephant, a dog, and a dog-eater" 🔹Bhagavad Gita 9:29 "I am equally disposed to all living entities: there is neither friend nor foe to Me: but those who with living sentiments render divotional service unto Me, such persons are in Me and I am in them." 🔹Bhagavad Gita 18:41 "The duties of the Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras are distributed in accordance with their guṇas (quality) and not by birth. Caste is a Spanish and Portuguese word 'casta' which stands for 'Breed' or 'lineage'. During earlier times Caste use to be Varna (Profession) and based on merit and not by birth, I can give you instances from the ancient times, where a so-called modern day "lower caste" moved to "upper caste", e.g. Guru Valmiki, Kabir Das was from a shudra family but became a brahmin based on merit, etc and btw Ravana was himself a Brahmin knowledgeable person from Northern India but because of his notorious activities he got punished by Rama (believed to be an OBC if we abide by caste categorization). Lastly, you have to understand the British motive behind imposing caste: The Caucasians (Europeans) created Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda, Africa, to divide and control the native population, and for this reason, the Rwanda Genocide occurred. The same attempts and inequalities Europeans also tried to create amongst Indians by separating Northern India and Southern India into "Aryans" VS "Dravidians" and further dividing Hinduism into 3,000 castes and 25,000 sub-castes. And also read about Herbert Hope Risley who created casteism, racism in Indian society by one's facial features and skin color, and Bishop Robert Caldwell who propagated the "Aryan Invasion" in Southern India to convert "Dravidians" into Christianity.

I know appreciate the sentiments. Look before you make an opinion about India, watch any news of Al Jazeera about your own country. If you think that they are telling the truth about your own country then you can form an opinion, won't judge you. But if you think that they are exaggerating the facts, and pointing out most rare incidents in the society, then think twice before forming an opinion about India. My wife is from so called dalit caste, we talk about the issue. Yes people (mostly uneducated and rural area) see dalits in negative ligh, and yes they do discriminate but Government does not. No government does. They try to appease to Dalits. Why would they discriminate them? Dalit's vote value as much as a general person, or muslim. I wrote this because I love my country and I think you love your too. We don't want our country to be in bad light. But thank you for your kind sentiment.
@pilaresteban4557 жыл бұрын
Prajwal Hegde, Some of the people, not all, from Cataluña, have the actitude of looking at the rest of Spain with discrimination, they also think they are well above the rest, they want to keep their actual wealth for themselves not to share anything with other less prosperous. Big part of that wealth belongs to all Spaniards. That group is powerful enough, wishes to be more and is asking for independence, nothing to do with being abused by a cast system. I am talking here about union and respect so necessary to live all of us in a better world . All societies and systems keep on improving and need to improve more...but together, not in spite of others. Improvement is real when is improvement for all, this needs to be achieved wit the work of all. 21 century countries should not separate but be at peace and become more united, systems should provide fairly to all their citizens. That is improvement, the rest will result in a bigger mess than the one we have got now.
@pilaresteban4557 жыл бұрын
Deepak kumar, I have Indian friends, I love many things about beautiful India. I was lucky to visit India. In my family we have got two adopted children from your continent. No system is perfect, some don't even try for improvement. When a systems hurts people on their bare basics, needs to be change the sooner the better, in India and every where else, but India I am sorry to say is one of those countries that moves very slowly towards the basic rights of all men, women and children. I hope with dismay for a fairer life in every corner of our earth.

I witnessed the plight of the Dalits, the scheduled and backward castes first hand when I visited India in 1997. At that time, the conversion was to Christianity. I was researching how the setasides in work, education and politics were affecting the lives of those discriminated against and oppressed by the caste system. It seems that things have gone backward.

The Dalit incomes have gone up since 19971, whereas the incomes for poor people in the west has stagnated over the same period.

Vadi Raj, not all people convert for money. Stop showing your cheap mentality and visit tribals of odisha. Compare standard of living among hindu tribals and tribals who converted to christianity. You would see huge difference. I am glad people are converting to christianity and living a dignified life.
