Yea you know Truegreen7? He's a great artist, one of the best fakemon artists in my opinion, and at least once he traced in a video, I believe that in the new regional forms one to be as loyal as possible to the original pose. As long as one creadits itself for the work, I believe that tracing is only a way to ease the workload of a piece of art. It's often used in animation to ease the workload and it's in general useful and a great way to learn new artstyles and basic anatomy. As long as someone is able to learn from it or put it into something productive it's just another tool. I just see it as wrong when someone credits themselves with something that they didn't do or just trace over to make it a bit different and call it their own work.

Based on that initial tracing statement I think you'd get the best art you can if you trace while creating the design in order to fully understand the proportions you want (I'd recommend doing this as your shape study, especially if you can find multiple images of the Pokemon to trace) and then draw a second pose to help convey the personality better. Tracing is something somewhat controversial but tracing official art from anything is fine as long as it's disclosed (which it is in your videos), and is in fact a very smart thing to do when attempting to mimic an existing art style. Tracing is just a more controversial thing in art communities. That said I think you're already going in the right direction! Your Future Paradox designs are also becoming more interesting and dynamic, especially Iron Warbot! I think drastic changes are fine when working with a theme, it's far more interesting than just coming up with a design and then loosely slapping a concept on it (this is a jab at Flutter Mane and Iron Moth, not your designs). A proper critique is that the segments in the mouths on the Future Paradoxes tend to feel... Slapped on? Unintentional? I like them in theory (the segments would allow a tongue to move easily) but the angles are very strange and don't really convey the shape in the way that segments on the other parts of the body do, and it makes me confused by what I'm looking at, I can't tell if there's just a glowing plate at the bottom of the mouth or if I'm actually looking at a tongue. Sticky Tarr is also a bit strange looking, I think the "head" being more defined than it is on the real Goomy doesn't suit the concept very well, and it might've been a better choice to make it a bit flatter and lower energy since tar is so viscous. I also just don't like Ghostly Reaper conceptually, since Dreepy is the ghost of an extinct prehistortic species, I think the reaper concept should've been saved for the Future design, maybe you could keep that in mind as a chance to push yourself in the future though, since I'm not sure if you would've known how to change the limbs in a clever way just yet. A random extra tip I have is to maybe draw Pokemon with limbs that are hidden somewhat on the silhouette in multiple layers so that you can try and manipulate the parts separately for the animations. Lots of them look fine but some of them just don't quite capture the illusion of movement, plus if you do it like this you can think a bit more about how the Pokemon itself would actually move, which is always beneficial to a design.

Great feedback for sure! The reason I don’t work with separate layers for the animations is because that just takes way too much time to do, once I get a lot faster in my art skills, I might start looking into it again! (I used to do this for simple drawings a while ago!) 🙌🏻

I honestly thought these long videos were dumb cuz the short ones were already there and it felt like you're just milking it for views, but it was actually very nice to have a longer video to relax to now that I have less time to watch KZbin so often 😅 Anyways, amazing designs as always, my personal favorite was Stomping Dino (so damn cute, it's so friend shaped) I'm really proud of you for how far you've come with your art and I'm glad you've moved onto the next level, leaving the tracing method behind 🙌 The liquify tool is there to help you, especially during the sketch phase, there's no shame in using it so there's really no need to even mention it honestly. We all use it when needed. Also a tip for drawing legs in the same direction: draw boxes. Make yourself some guidelines using box shapes, it really helps with perspective stuff. If you struggle to draw normal looking boxes, take a little bit of time everyday to fill out a page/canvas with a bunch of them and you'll master drawing them in no time 👍 (That is an advice I should honestly take myself as well, but god damn I'm lazy 💀)

With past dreepy we know that it’s past variant should be a dragon/water type as in one of it’s line’s dex entries, it is stated that the line was resurrected from an ancient species that went extinct and roamed the ocean. Quote from the sword dex for dreepy: After being reborn as a ghost Pokémon, Dreepy wanders the areas it used to inhabit back when it was alive in prehistoric seas.

Future Bagon: small energy wings Past Beldum: Pretty good Future Beldum: Remove the design and make it a camera Past Gible: This is not something Pokémon would do, but it is a very cool concept Future Gible: make it a fire type because it is a CANNON Past Deino: Just no Future Deino: Rename to iron neck Past and Future Goomy: Perfect Past Jangmo-o: Make tail like the ankylosaurs Future Jangmo-o: Make a little more different Past Dreepy: Remove the design and make it a dreepy that lives in the water Future Dreepy: It's missing something, but it's still quite good Past and Future Frigibax: Very good, and I would have it on my team This Took so long.

The entry states Jangmo-o finding mates, but Jangmo-o isn’t fully evolved yet, it is still a child. Jangmo-o shouldn’t have to find mates. Otherwise, I absolutely loved these designs!

tracing is fine! art isnt a black and white hard science. anyone who thinks so is an amateur, which is fine, but creating such taboos limits artists. its important not to use tracing as an eternal crutch, but tracing doesn’t make you lesser or evil. plenty of professionals use tracing in their art or as practice. its like rappers using samples in their music

Who told you tracing is bad? For an artist trying to get these videos done in a timely manner, it's your best friend. It's only bad if you don't disclose that information or trace a random artist's work. Professional artists literally trace people need to get over themselves. I've had multiple teachers tell me that it's not an issue and do it themselves.
