Grateful for videos like this! I was halfway through this job and the internal “catch can” would not sit flush for the life of me. Nothing in the instructions mentioned this. Luckily, you mentioned it was a FORD cast issue, I had to grind 1/8” off and then smooth it out. A file would have taken me 27 hours 😆. Thanks!!

You may consider putting a screen cap on the end of the vapor discharge hose to prevent wasps and insects from entering the hose and setting up house. I suppose if you drive that Ford every day, this may not be a problem. Just something to consider.

WARNING: Please make sure when you install your hose, you ensure theres no "U" shapes in your hose routing... If you have a low pount, over time oil vapor will build up and cause oil to actially pool up inside the hose and block the flow (Even with the internal catch can!), witch can lead to MAJOR engine probelm/damage.... The line in this video is VERY close to coming down from the engine, and then it almost loops back upwards when you used the second zip-tie.... Be careful guys!

By doing so you are not allowing crank case pressure to be released as intended. Original setup uses slight vacuum from the turbo to help relieve the cc pressure… you will have turbo problems down the line. Leaking oil on the exhaust side making the truck smoke and eventually blow out your turbo seals… Bill Hewitt from powerstokehelp explained this is detail. Rip Bill.

You don't need a vacuum to release pressure. Think about that for a moment. 🤔

How is the SPE fuel filter kit treating you? I just installed it on my 22’ and it was a bitch. For whatever reason, the fittings on the housing did not want to slide into the stock fuel lines. We have to file the edges for the lines to slide in and lock. Another problem was the “push lock” lines came apart on their on and truck went into reduced power and threw a check engine light for low fuel pressure. Line had popped off the barbed end of the fitting. Put some clamps on it and was good to go.
@PowerstrokeRick Жыл бұрын
You have a long bed or short bed? I’ve got over 1000 miles on my setup and haven’t had a single issue. The lines were a tight fit getting on the housing but i didn’t have to file anything. What did you file? And haven’t had a push to connect fitting come off either
@forspamhaha Жыл бұрын
@@PowerstrokeRick I got a long bed. The black fittings on the billet spe housing. The tips had to be filed a bit cause the stock fuel lines just wouldn’t slide in fully. The black hose that came in the kit popped off the barbed fitting provided in the kit. You know how you used hot water to push the fitting into the line? The line popped off that fitting.
