The fact that Mario is more recognizable than Mickey Mouse and now finally has his own theme park and movie is a dream come true. I’m so pumped from watching The Super Mario Bros Movie that I just 100% completed Super Mario World for the billionth time and currently making my way through Super Mario 64 again. I can play these games until the end of time.

​@@JDdr86 I have beaten Mario World over 20 or 30 times, I don't even know anymore, maybe 6 times by the normal route and the rest doing speedrun, It became a tradition to me beat Mario World in weird situations, the objective is beat it on the moon someday 😅 The game is so short that It doesn't matter replaying a lot, but sometimes I prefer to replay big games than playing a new one... Like how I beat Zelda Twilight Princess 3 times in 2 years or Xenoblade 1 two times and often wanting to replay it again instead of trying a new RPG I have never played... The backlog is so big that I feel bad when I don't want to play anything and just comeback to the world of Xenoblade 1 for more 80 hours of my life :/

While Origami King may not be a return to the gameplay of the first two Paper Marios many of us were hoping for, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I ended up enjoying it on its own terms. It's a game with a lot going for it, pretty easily my favorite entry since TTYD.

Super Mario Picross on SNES is really good. I didn't know Picross was a thing and now I'm addicted to it. I started to play it in October... And didn't finish until February. I clocked over 40 hours into that game, and it gets increasingly difficult... But just as much, satisfying too

I still wish Bowser's Fury had some kind of completion reward to let you play as the other characters. The pause screen has plenty of space for character icons to swap between, and it would add so much more replayability to a game that seems built around it.

Don’t forget that Donkey Kong 3 also had an Arcade Archives version. Since the NES arcade ports (incl. Donkey Kong 3) were counted separately, it would stand to reason that DK3 on Arcade Archives should be included as a separate game on the list. Coupled with NES Pinball, that should make at least 69 Mario games on the Switch. Fun video non-the-less. I’m all for bringing back Super Mario Bros. 35.

Couple of things that weren't explicitly mentioned: VS. Wrecking Crew and Donkey Kong 3 through Arcade Archives. You mention Wrecking Crew and Donkey Kong 3 through the NES versions, and I'm not sure how different they are, but VS. Wrecking Crew might be worth exploring at least. Seems like it has some unique features and gimmicks. Shame because if you'd added those two, you'd get a very nice 69.

Hey, where's some Crafted World appreciation. I would argue it's as inventive and full of ideas as Tropical Freeze. Yeah, the platforming is simple, but the game never gets boring thanks to beautifully designed levels that are full of crispy secrets to uncover. And the level aesthetics! This game isn't structured in a conventional way and the "worlds" are just two or three levels long, which do the impossible and are usually visually different and present new ideas nonstop (with a little non linearity to add a little spice). I wasn't sure I would enjoy the game hearing other people talk about it, but I finally bought it this last week and I couldn't be happier. It was such a wonderful experience, brought a bit down by lackluster music (which wasn't as big a deal as some people put it) and totally optional item hunts that go on for a tad too long. Ok, so that's that, if someone is reading this I apologize, but I felt like ranting a bit. Give Yoshi's Crafted World some love! Anyways, I could watch Jon videos for hours, some amazing stuff (maybe even better than crafted world).

Super Mario Picross really wowed me. Later in the game Wario takes over and it gets really hilarious and meta. I loved all rhe puzzles where he's just bragging about himself & dissing Mario. It def helps knowing some Japanese but not necessary, and one can always use a phone camera to translate text today.

Hey, Jon. Did you know? I kinda like Mario games. Bit of a fun fact about me. ...Jokes aside, Mario has quite a fancy history. The Nintendo Switch itself boasts a vast library of his adventures old and new. I own just nine original Mario games on Switch. My favorite is Super Mario Party, as it took steps towards bringing Mario Party back to its roots. Mario Party Superstars is a fun time too. I actually find Mario Golf: Super Rush to be my favorite Mario sports game original to Switch, followed by Mario Tennis Aces, then Mario Strikers: Battle League. Battle League in particular is noted as my 100th Mario game. I'm glad that you appended the sub-universes in this video; the DK, Yoshi, and Wario games have always been considered Mario games to me. Through the Nintendo Switch Online, I have my favorite Yoshi game Yoshi's Story playable. Likewise, the original Donkey Kong Country is one of my top three DK games. WarioWare Inc. is a cute start to Wario's party games. There are some Mario games that I don't care for. Shocker! But no, games such as Super Mario Maker 2, the Mario + Rabbids series, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Paper Mario: The Origami King don't tickle my fancy. I _am_ interested in getting Bowser's Fury someday though. You brought up how Super Smash Bros. is a gateway to getting into other gaming universes. I am mostly a diehard Mario fanboy, but Smash has helped me branch out to enjoying Kirby, Pokémon, and Sonic games. As for Ultimate, well, that got me into playing the original Banjo-Kazooie! Otherwise, I like the convenience of using several Nintendo and third-party stars in one fun crossover fighter. You say there are 67 Mario games on the Switch?
