When Amy talked about going through a break up where their was technically no dating so you feel like you don’t really deserve to feel this way I truly connected to that... I had a huge crush on my next door neighbor growing up and we were best friends. We hung out everyday and he would blow off his friends because he would “rather be with me than with them.” And we would go on little adventures around the block , have sleep overs in his garage, and just hang out every day for 11 years. Then all of a sudden he gets into bad things and people and I literally watched him walk out of my life.. it was the worst feeling ever and I still feel it today (3yrs later) and I felt that I had no obligation to feel this way because we never did actually date.. and I also didn’t do anything to keep him away from all the bad things he got into....he moved away and is doing much better now and we dm every once in a while and I’m happy that he’s doing well... Any ways I love you guys and you all inspire me to better myself and become the person I I know I can be. Ps. Sorry I’m soo late

I had a really good break up with my ex. I love him as a person but jeez Lauren has a point! He was a great best friend, but as time went on and we started dating and getting more serious and then living together.....as a partner he just kept getting more complacent and as the time went on and we started resenting each other. Whenever we run into each other i remember why I fell in love with him. He is amazing it just doesn't work for us. I honestly think that sometimes people come together for a reason for a higher purpose. It doesn't mean that in the end they will end up together, but it does mean that the special person will be in their lives forever in some way. Even though I now have no romantic inclination towards him, I believe we will in each others lives forever and it will be for the better

Wow breakup... it happened to me when I was 15. I said him I loved him, we dated for 5 months in general. We were classmates from 7th to 11th grade in school (and we were dating between 9-10 grades). So it wasn't easy to move on because we were seeing each other everyday and we learned the same subject for final exams, and we both wanted to be doctors. Wooh. When our teacher knew we were in relationship she told us to sit together. We sat together a week or two and then he changed place without teacher's permission and no explanation to me. That was hard. But in December that year I saw he posted profile picture with his new gf. I was mad sad and messed up. It took me 10th, 11th grades and a couple of years in uni to move on. It took so long because he was near. He didn't knew I would come to celebrate school celebration because I didn't want to and came with that gf. And I was studying in uni with his closest school friend.

I've been in the heartbreak phase for a while know. I keep thinking I'm over it and then the pain just comes right back. I listened to all of your tips and thought about everything I've been through with my ex, all the things that made me mad, sad, happy etc. like Christina said. I wrote it down. Decided to write a letter to my ex and somehow I feel so much relief. I just hope I keep feeling like this now and the pain won't come back this time. And I know I'm not supposed to actually sent the letter to my ex, but somehow I really want to?

I dated a guy for 4 years who was a friend of my family. He was my first love. He gave me so much attention, but sometimes it felt overwhelming, and i often felt like i needed to get away. He said he wanted to marry me and his family made me feel like if i didn't feel the same way i was betraying everyone. So i stayed longer than i should have. I tried to pull away slowly so he would break up with me, but he just pushed in closer and i felt choked and stressed out by his presence. So i ended it to get away. Then he turned angry very fast. And his whole family did too. I wanted to still be friends for some reason, but I finally just cut him off because of how crazy it got. And then about 2 years later i guess everyone forgave each other and moved on like nothing ever happened. We all get together sometimes as families and it's "back to normal". I met my now husband soon after the breakup and we have been together for 4 years. Im so happy to have found a true best friend who I never want to get away from. Keep looking until you find what you really want!
