There’s also interactions between Bardock and Dodoria he mentions how Dodoria slaughtered his crew in the Bardock special. Bardock also has an interaction with Zarbon, King Cold and Cooler as well.

Because this is the design from the Super Broly movie, not the Bardock special. That's why he and the newer Broly have the rounded off shoulder pads instead of the classic pointy ones.

I personally like this Bardock more since he has more character development and he plays into the "not all Saiyans are bloodthirsty monsters" theme. I also like this outfit since I just have a thing for those types of saiyan armors and it also gives it the theme of how saiyans were also just common soldiers.
