i think its because at this point you would have completed the weishpautt quest and the grey wardens are down to a hundred or so and it was revealed that many wardens were just gonna retire after the last archdemon is defeated.

Well given that they're going to kill both of the last Old Gods means the Blights and the Grey Wardens as we know it are going to end soon, so Warden secrets kinda don't matter anymore Also during Davrin's questline when the Gloom Howler reveals its getting Archdemon blood Davrin does blurt out "You're blighting them?"

During my first play through, there was an extra line he said to Harding. It was “I’m not angry that you didn’t keep that secret, just disappointed.” In which Harding says “Don’t say that, that’s even worse!” This additional line, after some experimenting, turns up when Emmrich and Harding are getting close (possible romance couple)

Emmrich is the only character i like. And why is this writing like a episode of friends?
@Evelyn-vd9qdАй бұрын
There are numerous issues here regarding Dragon Age (DA) lore. First, the concept of a "Lich" doesn’t exist in the Dragon Age universe. In Dragon Age, the undead follow a unique, original formula: they are created by demons or spirits possessing dead bodies, and that’s all. The "type" of undead is determined by the nature of the spirit involved. For instance, Pride demons create Revenants or Arcane Horrors, while lesser demons create regular undead. Benevolent spirits, if they possess a body, typically don’t corrupt it, leaving it unaltered. According to established lore, if Emmrich somehow managed to bind his soul to a skeleton or construct, he would essentially be like the golems found in the franchise. This might involve true immortality and unholy magic, the Chantry would likely start a manhunt, and nearly every mage in Thedas would want to “talk” to him about this process. Still, it could make sense as a new mage learning or developing an original type of magic. However, for this new writing team, creating silly-looking characters and forcibly implementing D&D terminology wasn’t messy enough; they gave Emmrich the inexplicable ability to revert to his human form after his “lich transition.” Not only does this reveal how clichéd the writers’ approach is, but it also disregards the established limitations on what mages and magic can achieve in Dragon Age. It’s just another reminder that Dragon Age: Veilguard was created by people who didn’t genuinely want to make a Dragon Age game.
@ace4321000Ай бұрын
Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t dragon age a spiritual successor to baldur gate so wouldn’t the concept of lich exist since there arcane horror and the mortalitasi probably learn it from studying them
@korpsmaninfantry7238Ай бұрын
to be fair, it has been ten years in thedas since the events of DA:I and this is the first time we actually get a detailed look at Nevarra, The Mortalitasi, and by extension Mourn Watch, outside of a few comics and books. So we have no idea the rituals and spells they actually have access to outside of what was shown in prior games and books. Chill my dude, it's not going against anything established. Especially since I doubt you've actually done Emmrich's companion quests.

@@korpsmaninfantry7238 My main point of contention, as I made clear in my comment, is how it’s handled. The cringeworthy terminology and the unreasonable ability to swap between undead and human form-really? This isn’t just foolish; it’s incoherent. If you disagree, feel free to mention any entry, scene, or reference in the previous three games that supports this cartoonish swapping concept. Regarding the magic itself, I believe it’s a matter of opinion whether this kind of transformation would even be possible in Dragon Age. I can mention several examples of undead and necromancy in the series that suggest similar concepts. However, the way it’s presented here-an on/off human-lich switch-breaks the lore in my opinion.
@Evelyn-vd9qdАй бұрын
@@korpsmaninfantry7238 In addition to everything already said, what is known as magic in Thedas wasn't established in just a few years; it has a long, intricate history. Are you really arguing that, in just ten years, this magic in Thedas could have evolved to this point? Consider how long it took Orzammar to create golems and how necromancy has been consistently treated in nearly every account. You’ll see how incompatible Emmrich's magic (on/off human-lich switch) is with the established lore.

@imshailАй бұрын
Necromancy isn't evil in the Dragon Age universe, it's different from blood magic which actively requires hurting others in the process, Nevarra is an entire country of Necromancers, it would be weirder if they actually left over it considering other countries weren't declaring war on Nevarra over them having undead running around. Cassandra from the previous games comes from Nevarra and actually mentions that her uncle is a necromancer.

Maybe it's because Astarion had to kill thousands to achieve his transformation and his morals were still dubious as far as the BG3 cast was concerned and Emmerichs transformation was a personal decision that affected no one but himself and the team trusts him because he hasn't displayed dubious morals in the past. Funny how context matters.

Writing for some of the companions is ass (mostly taash) the facial animation is almost non existent, way too much gay shit and the gay shit does not tie into anything important so if it were removed you wouldn't even notice but the overall story arc is decent, combat is smooth but overly drawn out, the game looks nice aside from the quanari they allow retarded now
