Each video of yours I tell my husband the same thing, "Oh I wish I was Jeri's next door neighbor." When you mentioned Miss Havisham is a previous video, it just reinforced it. I have always wanted to live in a house like Miss Havisham. I teach, am a strong animal lover, paint and garden. After teaching 31 years, we look forward next year to moving away from the concrete jungle and hopefully recreating what you have created. Before I discovered you, I had always wanted to make a donkey the very first pet. After watching this beautiful tribute to your animal family, I can hardly wait. The best thing about the internet is getting to know there are people out there like you! Thank you!!

I will attempt to Express in words how I greatly enjoyed this video. I also am an animal lover, amateur garden, and amateur writer. Your story telling was food to my soul. I cried for three days when a predator killed my gorgeous rooster, "Red". I gave away the last three hens, Lucy, Penelope, Scallywag. I have never again raised chickens. I give all your videos a "beyond thumbs up" as I learn something new and interesting as well. I share an interest in art. I am more expressive in arrangements of cut flowers, crafts, garden beds. My son is a professional artist. His niche' is painting still life, murals, and people. I hope you continue sharing your various loves and talents to the public. God bless you and thank you.

Deborah, thank you for the very nice comment. It really is tough losing some of our animal friends, some are more dear than others. Living in the country, where everyone is trying to survive.. (fox, raccoon, coyote) makes all the critters vulnerable, but the hardest losses come when the loss was not a survival necessity. Mean dogs and sickness have been some of our worst PREDATORS. But whatever the cause, I just continue to add to my animal family when a death occurs. Thanks for your visit and keep up with your creative endeavors!

Loved seeing all your animals Jeri. When we bought this little homestead five years ago, the first thing I wanted was a donkey. I got one for Christmas and on that same day he almost bit my pinky finger in half. He had never been socialized and considered me the enemy for going in his pasture. Sold him to a cattle farmer at a great loss. Farmer was happy and the donkey was too. Then I started raising sheep. They are my joy. I also have two Great Pyrenees and two Border Collies and an eight month old Bernewfie. Also many Muscovy ducks and quite a few chickens. But I still love looking at your lovely flowers and "having tea" with you. And looking around your lovely home. Thanks for sharing.
@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow4 жыл бұрын
I raised sheep for about 12 years, but no longer have any; lost this old gal Sophia, last year. I'd like to get a few Shetland sheep this year. But I love my donkeys most of all, it's too bad you had a negative experience with yours, mine are sort of like dogs, in that they love attention and come for treats when called. Never liked the look of Muscovies until recently, curious as to their personality...
@karenthesheepgirl19094 жыл бұрын
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Well they are technically water fowl, not ducks. Not at all warm and fuzzy like the Pekins I had. But I love to watch them fly over the property. Lynn, You must mean Zuza, the duck. One of our peacocks got very loud one night and a woman driving past our house thought someone was screaming and called the police! I love your sweet introduction to your sweet animal friends. I wish I could have all those birds, but I live inside city. Thank you for sharing both your artwork and your special friends.

If I were to recommend a particular species, it would be a pair of ducks. They are the happiest and busiest of farm birds. Too bad you can't have a few!

Oh I don't think I have seen your dogs. But my daughter and I go driving around our area, especially this year when my daughter could not go to town and hang out. So we drive and see all the farma and animals , mostly cows but we love the babies, and in our drive one summer day we came upon a small farm with sheep and 6 dogs that look exactly like yours came barking their heads off, but most of their tails were wagging. But i suspect if there was a predator they would not have wagging tails

There is NOTHING like an animal to make me smile and feel better. The peacocks are stunning! What gorgeous birds. I feel the same way about animals that you do. They are treasures. Thanks for the introduction to your treasures.

Linda, True about getting a lift from animals, it happens to me every day. From the little squirrel that's been hanging out in my potager today, to the funny faced frog that peeped out of the pond last week ( he must not know it's still winter), animals are a cure for whatever ails you!

Hi Mary, my pets add such joy to this place, it wouldn't be the same without those screeching peacocks and honking geese!

Oh you are so lucky! I too love animals and over the years have had chickens, ducks, turkeys and rabbits. I have always wanted a donkey (had a horse when I was a child) and goats. My husband is not so keen on the idea! So enjoyed seeing your animals and hearing their stories. Thanks for sharing!

We've had a few goats, and as much as I loved them, they were SO naughty, always getting over the fence and causing trouble. They lived to a ripe old age, and have since passed away. I don't think I'll ever get another goat, but I would love some smaller sheep someday.

Love your farm animals!! And your illustrations. I tried to find out if you do calendars?
@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow5 жыл бұрын
Sharon, I do art prints, greeting cards and books but no calendars, yet. I may use some of these farm illustrations to create a calendar for 2020. They are exactly the correct size for it.

Dezzie, We try to give them a good home here, lots of freedom, food, companions and love. In return, I get so much from the critters, can't be anything but grateful for the opportunity.
