Fact is, Lance was the reason Tommy Vercetti had to crush Diaz when he did. Lance managed to screw up an assassination attempt on Diaz, Tommy being the standup guy he is (for a crime lord) rescued Lance and made sure Diaz wouldn't live long enough to regret it.

Remember in the intro Sonny Forelli said they will send someone down to build bussiness for them and carve them a "nice slash of action", so regardless of Lance or even the drug deal in the intro not going bad, Tommy would still have to take over the city for Sonny and given his attitude Tommy would still hold the grudge and kill Sonny.

Sindacco appeared in SA, when they were sabotaging Woozie's Four Dragons Casino. CJ basically eliminated all Sindaccos in Las Venturas. And that's was one of the reasons why Leone family took over Caligula's Palace.

In few missions before the heist, CJ damaged them significantly, with the final blow struck during Rosenberg's mission, as it turned out the guy CJ took for a ride on the hood of a car was Johnny Sindacco, who died to heart attack the moment he saw him in the meat processing facility.

There's the whole thing about 3D and HD games being in different universes and all, but my head canon is that what really happened after 1992 was that Sweet ended up being somehow killed by another gang (maybe even by a different Families group, like the Seville Boulevard or Temple Drive sets, as Big Smoke said that there was some bad blood between them) and then CJ realizes that he's already lost two siblings to the streets and didn't want to end up the same way, so he decides to leave crime, becoming legitimate and working on his legal businesses, his garage and car dealership in San Fierro, casino in Venturas and even becoming somewhat famous as Madd Dogg's manager, maybe even becoming a rapper himself (remember the Fruntalot ad in Middle Park East in GTA IV). After that, Grove Street Families fell and Grove Street ended up being taken over by the Ballas. I always thought of CJ as a guy that wanted to make it out of the hood and dream big, but had someone who kept pulling him back into it, same as Franklin and Lamar in GTA V. CJ himself tells Sweet that a few times. And that's what Franklin and Lamar claim, that while some of the GSF members could be dead, others have become CEOs.

3D Universe story ends in 2008 Vercetti Gang was still in power in 2002(Confirmed in Kent Paul's website) The Families were active in 2004(confirmed in Maccer's website) Leone Crime Family,Yakuza,Yardies are still active after the end of GTA 3 story, however weakened due to loss of It's leaders(Salvatore,Asuka and Kenji) or in the Yardies case the loss of It's main operation(Spank Dealing)

I always wanted to know what happened to Zaibatsu Corp from GTA 2. They were by far the most powerful gang, but they just kind of disappeared. Other gangs like the Yakuza come back in GTA 3, even El Burro from GTA 1 comes back in GTA 3, but the only reference to Zaibatsu in GTA 3 is a commercial for Zaibatsu Pharmaceuticals, which was their front operation to make them appear to be a legitimate business. With other gangs in the first 2 GTA games it's pretty easy to fill the blanks with what probably happened, but Zaibatsu, the most powerful GTA 2 gang, just fell off the face of the Earth with no explanation.

Zaibatsu may only take over in the future, GTA 2 most likely takes place in 2013, so in GTA 3, in 2001 it is only a Pharmaceuticals company that expands it's operations later, possibly after the GTA3 story as Claude pretty much weakens every gang in Liberty. In Beta screenshots of GTA 3 you can see Zaibatsu posters that are not in the final game. Maibatsu may be a separate company or a branch of it, since they specialize in cars. An oddity is that in GTA 5 the Z-Type, based off the Zaibatsu gang car in GTA 2, has it's story rewritten in the HD universe to be a 1920s car, is manufactured by Truffade not Maibatsu or Zaibatsu.

The White Stallionz were a biker gang separate from Big Mitch Baker's biker gang in GTA VCS,they appeared in only one mission and got wiped out by Vic. In GTA V storyline, the Gang to which Franklin was attached to ( Chamberlain Hills ) seems to be a part of the Families from what Franklin and Lamar says during some mission and the members wear green clothes and have green cars

I won't say that the Cholos gone completely in GTA VCS i don't know if it's a bug or glitch or something like that but when i completed the game of the PS2 version on a PC with a PCSX2 emulator i kept see them in Little Haiti. Btw the same thing is on PSP version i have see on some other YT videos who played that game that the cholo after the completed the game at 100% the cholos doesn't diapered completely.

By the end of gta 3 all gangs in that city suffered a huge loss....all bosses in 3d Universe are dead...so this severally weakened all gangs....leones became extra hostile and cautious towards Claude since Tony became their boss.... colambian cartel also lost their boss...but they are not completely vanished...all the gangs in the end of gta 3 didn't vanish, but thriving hard for their living...

My theory is that CJ did exist in the HD Universe but doesn't have the same experiences as the CJ from the 3D Universe so hear me out umm so let's say HD CJ had similar experiences with the 3D CJ which means atleast 75% - 90% of experiences that CJ had in the 3D also occured in the HD I don't wanna be called a nerd but my theory goes like this when you start the game you visit your mom's funeral then CJ gets back into the gang life doing missions to support his family and homies while dealing with crash so the time he spent in Los Santos before his betrayal was similar to his 3D self so let's say the time he spent in Los Santos before his exile was around 85% - 90% so then after his exile the story from GTA San Andreas in the 3D Universe started to break down but still the HD CJ robbed stores with catalina maybe since Flint or Red or Whetstone county doesn't exist in the HD Universe so CJ robbed banks with catalina most likely in Blaine county or the mount chiliad area and after catalina left to go with Claude after the race HD CJ would go on to continue his journey and since we don't know if Claude existed in the HD Universe let's say that catalina went with a random mute guy and after the race the random mute guy gave his garage in San Fierro to CJ and then CJ would go to continue his journey from the HD Universe version of San Fierro cuz most likely there is a San Fierro in HD Universe we just don't know where it is located so CJ's journey went from San Fierro to Las Venturas so CJ started his garage in San Fierro and CJ would also work with the triads working against the mafia and HD CJ would also go on to steal a jetpack in area 69 and he would also start his casino I could keep going on and on but the one thing and one thing only that CJ didn't do was return to Los Santos which left Grove Street to get raided by the ballas so there was a CJ in the HD Universe but we never played his story this CJ I am talking about exists within GTA 4 and 5 and some events caused him not to return to Los Santos that's probably cuz his brother got killed in prison or let's say his brother got a life sentence and after either of those 2 events occuring it was hard for CJ to make a return so that's what could have happened to CJ in the HD Universe then in GTA 4 we can see a billboard CJ posting as a rich man wearing a tuxedo and hat which means CJ could have became a rich business man in the HD Universe like he did in the 3D Universe and he most likely went on tour with madd dogg after the events of San Andreas in 1992 so that's why Grove Street Families doesn't have Grove Street anymore and there is still tags in Los Santos in 2013 of Grove Street Families similar to the areas where CJ use to spray paint

I tell ya, i will never in a million years understand the backward ass logic Rockstar has used to justify not letting events from other universes exist in more modern ones. Like, you really dont want to add references and cameos into your games like that?

@@CouldaWouldaShoulda That's really just more cause to let the events of previous universes exist in the most recent universe. By confirming in say, GTA V that say, Tommy existed and may still be alive, they can build a bridge toward GTA VI. The existence of stuff like, say, the end of GTA III, or the Caligulas Heist of GTA SA within the HD universe would go a ways toward making the world of GTA feel even more fleshed out.
