I was anorexic as a child. We do feel better when lean. There's a reason we want to be lean. So after trying it all I found the raw vegan lifestyle. I tried all the forms of this lifestyle as well. Check out the Medical Mediums channel. He's brilliant. My diet now has been mostly raw salads I mean huge salads ! I've done this for 20 years and I'm 53 and in the best shape of my life. Ficus on eating greens because when you are hungry you need minerals. Everyone is mineral deficient in this modern world. A carrot today has 40 times less mineral content than it had when your grandparents were born. So we keep feeling hungry because the food hasn't got any minerals. The way around this is to get a juicer and juice the veggies and eat a lot of them !!! As you repair the mineral deficiency your hunger goes away !!!! I dare anyone to try this and then tell me they regret it.

Maybe this means the female body isn’t designed to be abs lean.Perhaps our appetite drive dictates how much body fat we are supposed to hold(?)
@noelleirina5628
@noelleirina5628 4 жыл бұрын
Appetite is extremely psychologically and emotionally conditioned. Women are designed to have a higher fat percentage than men, yes. But that doesn't mean women are meant to be soft and squishy by design. Then there's also different body types in terms of proportion and how lean your muscles are naturally (ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph). Either way, claiming it's not natural for a woman's body to be lean is just ignorance.

Stop complaining. It makes us look weak. @@MichaelPeterson-rx9jd what Katie said does not make her or women look weak. You trying to stop her makes you look weak. I think the discussion got sidetracked from my commet..so let's rectify. What Stephanie is doing is exactly right and an amazing real role model for young (and older) women and is very needed in the Instagram-filtered world most live in now. What I was trying to say that even tho she is doing it for her own mental and physical health, she does not live in a vacuum and if the bf got originally involved because of the looks only, it'll show now. Also what I tried to say is that a normal body like her's now is more attractive to men than the 3% body fat shriveled look.

When I started my fitness journey 4 years ago, you were one of the fitness women I loved following. Throughout these 4 years my life has had major ups and downs. I started feeling like most of the women that I followed were so lean and I was trying to get to that image. As a mother-of-four I had to go to extremes to get the look that I thought I wanted. The look that you had in most of your videos. I literally went to the gym 6 days a week, twice a day 4 hours a day, had absolutely no carbs, counted my calories and was basically feeling great, up until I realized my life evolved around my image and the gym. I started other hobbies and went to the gym less and less. Within 6 months of inconsistent gym regiment, but still eating fairly healthy I basically gained 10 lbs and lost all my lean look. I was feeling really discouraged and I stopped following you and all the fitness women that I wanted to look like. I just wanted to live my life in moderation and be happy with my body. Currently I'm not happy with my body or myself. And that has a lot to do with what's going on with my life, but I happen to stumble on this video and was really surprised that you have been going through so much this year. Not trying to be ignorant, but when you watch these KZbinrs with their positive attitude and picture perfect images all the time, I can't help but envy what seems like a perfect life. I'm so glad that you decided to be real and honest with yourself and your viewers. Your humanity is very encouraging and I hope the rest of your journey in life goes well for you and your loved ones this coming up year.

I can see that you've been terrified, depressed, and broken throughout this journey. I can also tell that the reason why you felt as much is because you are honest about your content. That is such a brave thing to do. You are not fearless, no. You had fears and yet you marched on. That is genuinely something most of us could not do. I cannot begin to imagine diving into psychological torture and bare it all at the same time. You are not the first to do "all in" but you bring light to it so others may follow. You are crazy as most great scientists are. When we get there, to the end of this trail, I pray that we find what we are looking for. The physiological and psychological peace that we need right now. Thank you, Stephanie.

I think also what a lot of people forget in today's society and especially the fitness industry is that woman biologically are not built for having similar muscle mass to men or having very low body fat percentages.
@justperpetuallybothered3474
@justperpetuallybothered3474 4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Don't get me wrong, weightlifting and clean eating can be wonderful, but a woman's body only grows so much muscle, and can only hold on to so little fat. We are not men, and if our fitness journey revolves around the goals prescribed by the male-centric fitness industry, our health will inevitably deteriorate.
@noelleirina5628
@noelleirina5628 4 жыл бұрын
Women aren't built to have a huge fat percentage either. Look at female athletes. That's what female bodies are built to look like on a strict regimen. It's not unnatural. It's bullshit. Women are constantly conditioned to be soft and gentle and physically just weak. Strength is feminine. Muscle mass is feminine. Low fat percentage is feminine. It's just not comparable to what male bodies do.
@noelleirina5628
@noelleirina5628 4 жыл бұрын
@@justperpetuallybothered3474 on the contrary, women are constantly told to be scared of growing muscles because that will make them bulky and not feminine. @@noelleirina5628 you're missing the point. I made it abundantly fucking clear that weightlifting and clean eating is a "wonderful thing", if you can read. HOWEVER, women, due to our reproductive roles, have a higher healthy body fat range than do men, and unless we inject ourselves with male sex hormones we can NOT have the same amount of muscles as men. Muscles in general are just harder for women to build. If you had any reading comprehension skills you'd understand that many women make the mistake of thinking that they can be this ultra lean, ripped thing and maintain their health, but they can't. Our happy medium is not the same. We can still build some muscle and maintain a healthy range of fat, but our best can not compete with the likes of men, not long term, and not for our health.

I love your candor! This is what self acceptance and self love looks like. It's not about airy fairy crap, but putting in the work and allowing yourself to be patient enough to achieve stability. Thank you for being so open and inviting us into this journey with you!

I’ve always watch your body builder videos and never subscribed because I know that wasn’t my ideal body type. But now I subscribed because you have such a beautiful soul and all about body positivity

Stephanie, you’re so transparent and real and it’s so refreshing to have someone like you in the KZbin community. You are so so brave to go against the norm and prioritize your health in a society that only seems to support weight loss. What you do is amazing, especially being a role model for other women who look up to you. Thank you for doing what you do and stay strong during this journey ❤️

I usually get bored when I’ve been watching a new fitspo girl for a while, but never Stephanie. She’s the realest of them all and seems to genuinely love her KZbin family. As long as you put out videos I’ll watch em til the day I die!

The part about your mom really hit me. My sister is also mentally ill and requires care from family members. Sometimes she says and does things that hurt us and it's so hard to separate when it's the person or the illness sometimes. Just sending love

This is so inspiring and important. I cry over my weight and how I view my body every single damn day, it's hard to learn to love yourself. Thank you Stephanie.

This is so inspiring to me! I've struggled with body image all my life, but especially in the past 2 years. My weight has fluctuated and caused me to look like a different person every month. With so many people striving to be the leanest they can be its refreshing to see someone prioritise their health, and needless to say you still look amazing!
