This is exactly what I needed today, I ate A LOT yesterday probably 5k+ kcals and I was still hungry but also sickly full, I fell asleep at 9pm and woke up at 11am feeling hungry again but I wanted to weight myself first although I know it will just stop me from eating but I don't want to give up.. Thanks so much for these videos❤

Since I started recovery I decided that I didn't wanted a meal plan again so I tried minnie maud method to gain weight that I need. It helped me a lot with my extreme hunger but after some time I found myself feeling sick all time because physically I didn't wanted that much food and it used to hurt my stomach so much. So I decided to eat whatever I want, whenever I want in the quantity I want but I still struggle with calorie counting and I feel that I'm not seriously recovering

The way I think about having desserts after a meal and being too “scared” to have it straight after is when you go out for a meal (I’m a main and dessert girl, not ed influenced) so when you finished your main you order a dessert straight after! If it could magically appeared you would have it like a millisecond after, but obviously it needs preparing and that literally takes less than 5 minutes most of the time. So you can have it straight after if you want, or 2/3/10/60 minutes after, whenever YOU want it. I eat dessert straight after, can’t wait haha :) Such a good and honest video Emma. I also agree with the CAMHS I discharged myself as I felt like they were just holding me back. They said instead of a proper magnum I could have a muller light yoghurt instead, which obviously made my head go crazy and I started having the smaller option constantly whilst before I was having a proper magnum! This was the final straw and I then discharged myself. But they wouldn’t let me have what I want, and wanted me to stick rigidly to a meal plan and I felt awful after hitting an “acceptable” weight having to restrict to stay at that weight or I’ll be “relapsing straight away” if I carried on. I never felt properly recovered as I’ve always restricted myself from gaining past what I want to weigh. I did better my last recovery attempt and got to a weight I never dreamt I would, I was adamant I wouldn’t last Xkg and ended up gaining Xkg more than that! But because it kept going up I freaked out and restricted which led me down the bad path as I thought if I’m hungry I might as well weight less. WHICH IS SO BAD. Now I’m in recovery again and I’m really tempted to go “all in” as I’m sick of being physically better but mentally consumed by weight, calories, hunger, exercise, timings and so on. I don’t want to be 30 and still be consumed by this, never had a relationship (as I don’t want anyone else to have to deal with this) and probably never having a proper job as I would have to drop out of uni inevitability. But you’ve inspired me so much, and you’re hair looks incredible and so healthy and shiny!

Thanks for another great video. i have another question: do you make sure that you eat a minimum on days you are not so hungry? I find it really hard to force myself to eat when I am not hungry. It feels wrong as if my body is telling me it doesn’t need food. Could it be that i can’t teust my body’s hunger signals yet? Have you experienced this, that you had to force feed yourself?
@recoveredbakes3675

Marit Voogd yes, I make sure I have 3 meals and 3 snacks everyday regardless of my hunger as we can’t trust the signals just yet x

What still makes me insecure: Let's say I messed up during the das - then at night I feel courage. Should I eat then like 3000 calories if I feel like after midnight or not? I suffer from serious depression and the typical morning low, so often I can't eat during the day, start at 17.00 to eat restricted and then feel really hungry at 22.00 or so. But I know it's not good and a cycle, so I don't eat more then at night and hope to have breakfast tomorrow. It mostly does not work. I just don't know if I must sit down and kick start with my desired 1500 calories breakfast and let the first day happen to jump up to 8000 calories or so or first try to eat at night when I feel clearer in my head?

Denise Kilian i think its a good thing to make it a habit to eat regulary during the day!! then you wont have that much of a drive to eat like 3000 calories right before bed, make it a super emotional thing to compensate your feelings and have a bad sleep.... at least my experience when i dont eat during the day (even though i am not hungry anyways so i had to make it a habit) i will binge at night and thats not a healthy!! i still enjoy going to bed full and satisfied but not THAT full that i am almot throwing up because i saved up all my calories for the evening to "feast" on it instead of trying to have a fulfilling day and do (and also eat) things that bring me joy :) also waking up with stomach pain after binging on 5000 calories at night makes me feel really bad about myself and is more likely to throw me back and stay in that late night binging cycle

As I recovered it slowly got better, wasn’t an overnight thing unfortunately. Important thing to remember is that it’s just water and is not from eating too much, it’s your body’s natural response to starvation. Keep on recovery and it will get better x

Is it normal for me to be eating constantly even if I'm not hungry? During my last restriction which ended roughly three - five weeks ago I didn't eat any solids for two weeks. I'm fairly fresh to anorexia recovery. Thank you:)
@alexkirkland237
@alexkirkland237 3 жыл бұрын
It’s completely normal. Mental and physical hunger are 2 different things. I am recovering from eating 400 cals a day and fasting 23 hours daily. I can literally eat 5k calories a day and still be hungry. It’s completely normal and it’s your body wanting more and more because it truly doesn’t know when it’ll be fed again.

I’m currently experiencing edema im gaining a bit more then 1kg a day my legs also went puffy and I look oddly shaped it’s really hard for me because my legs are the place im most insecure about im also scared that im not going to stop gaining weight and I don’t know when my body will stop holding onto everything . Can anyone tell me how long it will last for and if my weight will go down? I’m also trying to get a fast metabolism so i don’t want to give up but the weight is making me want to but I know I can’t

At this point you are still very underweight, do you think you will keep up this process even when you may actually reach overshoot with your weight? I mean, it is easy to do this all-in food thing when you are really underweight because you have weight to gain, but what about when it comes to the point of being a more 'normal weight' or if you actually overshoot?

I won’t lie and say you won’t gain weight because you will. However it won’t be real weight it will be water and food weight as your body will have the same response as someone who is underweight as you’ve restricted, However it will be temporary and remember like I said this is your “recovery body” not the body you have for life! Please look a Stephanie butter more for example she went all in at a healthy weight. Would you prefer to live your life constantly restricting your intake and forcing yourself to do sport OR would you rather be free from your disorder sure have to deal with some temporary weight gain and uncomfortableness just like everyone who goes through recovery but it will be so worth it!! Xx
