It always amazed how different the actors were from their characters. Sherman Helmsley was usually very soft-spoken and Carroll O’Connor was bright and kind-hearted. They were both such incredible actors.

One thing I've noticed is that when Edith or Louise address the other family, it's either, "Mr. Bunker or Mrs. Bunker", or "Mr. Jefferson or Mrs. Jefferson", but when Archie and George talk, it's just "Bunker or Jefferson."

Louise always says Archie and Edith. Edith says Louise and Mr. Jefferson. Archie says Jefferson and Mrs. J or Louise. George says Bunker and Edith but sometimes calls her Mrs. Bunker.

This show never gets old all in the family really paved the way for the Jefferson’s too have their own spin-off they don’t make show like this anymore and Archie and George Jefferson arguments are funny people couldn’t handle this type of comedy anymore in 2022

This is one of my favorite shows... it shows how utterly dumb racists usually are, with Archie being the butt of most jokes at the end. Carroll O'Connor was able to transform himself into a bigot that garnered some redemption.. a masterful actor.

False memory.People did get hurt by ignorant bigoted remarks but the bigot was either clueless or didnt care. Creator Norman Lear let Archies character talk like that only to set him up for a comeuppance. He was shocked that bigoted viewers didnt catch that part and instead admired Archies ignorant remarks

He is a little better than Archie. During The Jeffersons run, he admitted a few times, where he was wrong. While he did make comments, he was, even at certain times, nice to his white neighbors. I said certain times, where Archie was never kind to other races. Let's face it, he had a lot of patience towards Mr. Bentley who was always ringing their bell. I would have felt like slamming the door on a few times, and I am white. Between the two, being white, I will choose George over Archie any day.
