One week in and the Echo 10 is still great. However, if I activate it and the TV is on, it prefers to face the TV. Also it will focus on whomever is in the room when activated regardless of where I speak from. Perhaps facial recognition would improve that. Definitely provides a richer sound.

The echo studio sound significantly better. It has four tweeters in a separate sub. Those tweeters are pointing off to the left right front and up to give you the directional sound.

Hi Craig, I’m loving my new Echo 10 iii and personally found the bass needed to be increased to suit my preference. Other than that minor adjustment it provides a rich range. As mentioned before the screen glare is a big problem as my fave chair has a window behind it and I get reflections. When I’m with my wife and we are sitting close, Alexa seems to focus at a space between us. No facial recognition yet. Yesterday someone said Alex on the TV and Alexa turned to face the TV. Or maybe she liked the show. Lol.

Hello Douglas, thank you for sharing your experience. I did the same thing and turned up the bass and then it sounded really nice. I hadn’t noticed the screen glare with where I have it. I also hadn’t looked at it with two people yet. That is interesting that it just opens up a wider shot to include both of you. The way it zooms in reframes is interesting. It’s good that the echo can I watch TV. It is funny that it will turn hear the name and then decide if it should ignore it based on feedback from the cloud. So you get it listen in for a moment and then it will determine if it’s a disregard and stop listening.

I agree with you on the echo show 8. I think it is the best value. That is interesting you’re disappointed in the Echo Dot fourth generation. It is definitely a different sound with the front fire in design.

Echo Studio sound will obviously be a lot better than the show 10 for sound, as the studio speakers whole purpose is very great sound. And the studio speaker cost just about as much as the show 10. At least in Canada. Echo studio is 291 with taxes in, in Canada. And the Echo Show 10 is 360.

I have a new model and the volume is extremely low. I do not know how to set the audio permanently at a higher volume. Does anybody know how?

You can ask Alexa to speak louder or softer. Then she should consistently speak at the same level. As for the regular media volume, that should stay at what level you put it at.

I don't understand why people are complaining about the sound quality on Echo devices. It it a really a suprise that the speakers in these tiny devices are terrible? They are not designed as the main way someone would seriously sit and enjoy music. That is what an amp and quality speakers are for. These are designed to play music in the background when Hi-Res audio is not required. Like in the kitchen when cooking or when studying or working from home.

I love my second generation show 10’s! I have two of them. I just can’t get over the “creep factor” of the third Gen. Maybe someday, but not right now...

Hello Alan, that is a tough one to get over. It is a different feel. Specially when we get into turn taking and it really starts to take advantage of following to understand. I would say the echo studio still sounds way better. Much better range of sound. Plus it’s much better at giving a stereo, fuller sound. The studio definitely has that advantage of Dolby Atmos support. If sound is the most important thing I would definitely go with the studio over this. But it’s a toss up between the echo and the echo show 10. Both sounds so similar.

I can't find RMS power ratings of the new show... i have now an old jbl radial with show 5 in the middle instead of an iphone. 2 bad they didn't make a echo studio with a screen:)

If they could only have the echo studio sound inside the show 10. Can you pair the show 10 and Echo studio together? The echo studio has absolutely amazing sound. But then again the echo studio speaker alone costs just about as much as the Echo Show 10. I bought an Echo Studio speaker and in Canada it was $291 with taxes in for the speaker. And the Echo Show 10 is $360.

Echo 8 actually has a 3 speaker setup, 2 + sub. Ignore the internet and simply unscrew one to see for yourself. That's a speaker not a radiator.

Amazon SUCKS! I was given an Echo Show 8 and the music sounds awful! I returned it to Amazon, they sent me a new 8, and nope; still awful sound. I want to return it and now they won't take it back so I can buy the 10!!!! Wanna buy an 8, anyone???? 😡🤬
